We fired up our trusty 360 this morning, as we are required to do under contract, and were pleased to see that the Command & Conquer 3 demo has gone live. Originally promised to arrive yesterday, we were left with nothing. Thankfully, the demo has cleared whatever hurdle that stood before it and is now just waiting to be downloaded. Tantalizingly sized at 1GB exactly, it just dares you grab it. So, what are you waiting for? Go get it. We'll post our impressions of the demo later today.
Anybody manage to get any play time already?
[Thanks to everyone that tipped us off]

*****THIS DOESN'T REALLY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH C&C***** I just had an idea about xbox 360 friends list. There should be an option so that you can group your friends to the games you play with them as some gamers only like playing certain games or genres. Any one vouch for this idea?

I had to leave for class with the 360 running so the demo will be done downloading upon my return. I'm terrified that I'll return to a ring of death from leaving the system running idly for 3 hours. I wish the new dashboard update would install a sleep timer of sorts. you could set the system to shut down after a certain duration of time or once the clock reaches your set time. It'd even be cool if it had a startup timer like my tv. I'd love to have them set to simultaniously boot and wake me up with the spinny/warpy load-up screen for the 360. That'd be the perfect way to start my day

I've thought about that too. I think the idea ultimately stemmed from the fact that on a daily basis I look at my online friends and ask myself "Who the fuck is ______?! Where do I even know them from?" Grouping would really help with this.
As for C&C: I was a big fan of the first game way back when, so I'm in for this one.

the new dashboard update coming in May will include an auto sleep-shutdown feature so it will shutdown after downloading!

360 has an auto-shutdown after 6 hours.
However, the Spring update puts it into a sleep-mode that allows downloading without making the 360 run on all 6 cylinders.

Can't wait, having my wife start the download as soon as she gets home. Hopefully it will be done by the time I get off work.

Oh man, what a dilema. I could run home during lunch and kick off the download so it will be ready when I get off work. But that would mean sacrificing the $2 I have remaining on my parking meter. Decisions, decisions...

I wish I was able to use a web interface to set up the download from work, I thought that was part of live anywhere, wait where is live anywhere anyway?
I hope they include some WM6 love when they do put it out.

Already played it - its really cool!
So far I was UNABLE to connect with it to XBOX LIVE though - the demo just sits there saying "Connecting to EA-Servers...." and nothing happens

4: I've left my 360 on 12 hours or more without even a drop in preformance. So put a bit of confidence in your old 360. =P

Okay, so it must be my lucky day. I drove home to start the download and ate a free lunch while I was there. Back at work I actually found another meter that time remaining, so I was only short $1. If I had known it was going to be that easy to get there and back, I would have invited my wife home for some playtime in the daytime...

Dont worry, I just got the "7 Day Survivor" achievement on Dead Rising, that means, I had it on from 8 in the morning until 1 in the morning. And my baby was still roaring like a lion at the end of the ordeal.
Trust your Xbox, but also, make sure its protected with an intercooler/fan and kept in a safe environment
