They do these promotions not to give away free stuff for the hell of it but to get people who are on the fence to buy the product. It sucks, but since you were going to buy the product anyway they don't really care about giving you anything extra. It's part of the way the world works.

meh.. til Rock Band (or Guitar Hero) let me play to tracks on my 360 HDD I'll have trouble being intrerested - though a lot of the bands I listen to have 2 guitars & a bassist (even extra musicians on top of that, like keyboards, violins, accordians, hurdy-gurdy) & a double-kick drum kit.. the soft stuff (imo) like Metallica & Slayer look wrong on it as the singer plays a guitar or bass themselves..
