Xbox 360 Fanboy was pleased to learn today that two of its bloggers have wrangled themselves a slot in the upcoming Halo 3 beta. That's right David Dreger and I have both landed squarely in the beta, having now earned the right to point and laugh at the poor miscreants outside in the cold. Unfortunately, that poor lot includes our resident Gears of War nut, Dustin Burg, who made a critical miscalculation in his Halo 2 matchmaking time (see Fancast 002 for his methodology). We already know that many of our readers have made it, and we invite you to raise your hands again and scream it to the heavens. Failing that, you could also leave a comment right here.
Assuming we don't get squelched by a nefarious NDA, you can bet that we'll be reporting the latest and greatest from the Halo 3 beta. If we're lucky, we might even be able to arrange a 360 Fanboy reader beta session. Don't forget, if you haven't made it into the beta yet, you can still score a copy of Crackdown starting next week.

I've been in since the start.
If I create an XB360 Fanboy chart specifically for people in the Halo 3 Beta, would you guys make an announcement? That way we'd have something of a list of Gamertags to add/play with. I don't want to go into the beta and play by myself.
Also, as a suggestion, if there isn't some "nefarious NDA," I think it would be a really cool idea to maybe, every week, have a few readers submit their opinions of the experiences over a week in the Beta. Maybe have a Feature called, "The Week in Halo" or something (maybe if the beta only inlcudes one or two maps, call it "The Week on [Map-Name]"). Maybe readers could submit a 3-6 paragraph summary of what happened their experience in the Beta over the week, but I don't know how much you guys would want to have to sift through all those.
(I'm also going to e-mail this as a Tip, as you guys generally read comments, but sometimes you don't)

Oh, there will be an NDA. There was one for the Halo 2 beta, and there'll be one for the Halo 3 beta. Sorry to burst your bubbles :(

Still no luck for me. I didn't participate in the Halo 2 marathon because I don't own a copy of Halo 2. Hopefully, I 'll just get Crackdown.

What kind of fanboys would you be if you didn't get in the beta?
Personally I don't see how they can have an NDA on a beta this large. Actually I don't think it's a true beta, it's more "figure out how to cheat so we can fix it". Ok that's kind of what a beta test is but still.

But the Halo2 Beta wasn't public ;) So I guess Bungie won't let you sign a NDA.

I dont think they could stick such a publicized beta with an NDA. Everyone knows the game is going to be fantastic, so it's not like they need to hide anything. The only thing they'll be doing is encouraging people to talk about it. The more hype the better!

If there is a NDA and I talk, what are they going to do? Sue me for the $20 I have in my bank account? Kick my gamertag from XBL? Even if there is one, it would be too difficult to go after anonymous blog commenters.

I'm in too.
(Through the original online entry)
I hope we can bring friends as guests during the beta. That would rock as most of my friends didn't know about the beta and thus aren't invited.

I was angry when I firest read this, because I had just checked my hotmail account and there was nothing in there from MS. But then I decided to check the junk mail folder, and luckily there it was, the precious "You were one of the first 13,333 gamers to meet the "Rule of Three" program eligibility requirements. As a result, you have been selected to participate in the Halo® 3 beta." e-mail. I registered at arround 3:50, so anyone who did it before me, and didn't see to get a e-mail go check your junk mail folder - you might have actualy got in.
