fyi you can't just load a checkpoint and find the skulls. you must start the entire level over for the skulls to show up.

Are the skulls you turn on for scoring the same as the ones you find in the game, or are they two different things?

Do you need to find the skulls in the game to turn them on in the scoring?

George, yes they are in order. I know this because I used this exact same video to get them all. The are in order of the levels you play (one in each level). Most of them are simple, except for the ones you have to get using a grenade.

Mr. Sauceman: they are the same skulls you find in the SP game (or co-op). Though, when you pick up a new skull (when you find it) they won't turn on automatically. To turn the on you must goto the menu and click campaign and then hit X then turn on scoring and then you will be able to turn on the skulls that you have got (both gold and silver ones). So yeah, you do need to find them first before you turn them on (you won't even be able to see the skulls you haven't found. Well, can't see the information for the skulls you haven't found).

So there are 9 golden skulls and 4 silver ones? What's the difference between them?

Wait, so you find these BEFORE turning on scoring, then once you have found them all you turn scoring on and then that activates the skulls?


I have never understood what the skulls do anyway, can someone explain it?

The silver ones are just for fun, they don't really do anything. I know there is a grunt b-day part hat (or something like that) so when you die, any grunts around you explode with confetti. The golden ones are suppose to make things harder for you next time you go through. IE. 2x armor on enemies, 1/2 ammo drop than usually, no mini-map.

Also, to note: I actually did not watch this and thought it was the same video that I used. This one though is harder (in my opinion). The one I used and I personally think is better and easier, is:

I have every skull but the IWHBYD silver skull, which no one has found yet. That video is great but there's better places to jump from to get to those spots the video shows. You just have to look around.


The grunt birthday party is fun. When you headshot a grunt, confetti shoots out from them. Its hilarious.

The gold skulls, depending on each skull, adds bonus modifiers to your campaign score. The bonus modifiers DECREASE in relation to how long you've been running the mission. So be quick! It's minus .5x every 5 minutes. I like to turn on Catch (LOTS more enemy grenades), Thunderstorm (field promotions on enemies), and Fog (no radar). I start with 4.5x modifier and can usually finish before it goes below 2.0x. That almost guarantees me more than enough meta-score, by myself, on Normal if I run it efficiently.

Has any one else come up with some other skull combinations?

This guy sucks at jumping...

The Gold skulls act as score multipliers when you have scoring on and you activate them.

Silver Skulls are for fun.

Adorada...i used the same guide...so far I've found the first 2.

erivera...you can turn on campaign scoring before you start any mission. (You just have to back out to the main menu and choose it. [Press x when you are in the lobby.]) Gold skulls are just multipliers that will help you get the meta-game (scoring) achievements easier.

I am stuck on the barracks silver skull... how do i get it?

IWHBYD is obtained by getting to the part of the game that has the 7 hologram rings in it there are seven rings total..it is the 7th mission.You have to jump through the rings in this order...1346754654534 after that you go to the light bridge you made to claim your skull.The rings start from where you enter one through seven.

Has anyone seen the monkeys with human faces on the first level in the rocks? On of the monkeys is holding a teddy bear. Does anybody know what thats about?

I did the fourth level on legendary, the one with the skull catch, so i cleared the area, got there, no skull! i did the entire level, and didnt load from a point alpha or beta, why didnt i find a skull?

Ok, i found some of the silver skulls but i don't get the achievements unlocked sign from x-box live on or off. but i do get it with the gold ones. how do i know if it gives me credit for it? I just want the Hayabusa Armor. Someone please explain this to me in detail, i'm a blonde today. Thanks.

Halo 3 the let down:

Ya know with such cool games like resistance, and Bio shock what makes this game so good? I mean the multiplayer is pretty cool but isn't this just a prettier Halo 2?

Ganted you can pull the tourets down but only off of the ground mounts and not the vehicels? What are they using some super special material so you can't pull them off of the trucks but the mount on the grounds are made of alluminum? Come on.

At the end they kill Master Chief... If anyone is a fan of this series you should all be pissed lol. Bungie has basically given up on you guy's lol. I'm not that big of a fan but I was expecting a little bit cooler ending like him riding off with cortana in a cyborg human form or maybe him taking off his mask so we could see what he looks like underneath the robotic suit that is the master chief.

I am starting to get the feeling that bungie dropped the ball on this one. Remember on Halo 2 when you could get the behind the scenes look at what they were doing. They seemed to have forgoten that in my addition I guess or else they are just putting something out there with a popular name and makeing money off of it which isn't wrong either I mean make it how ever you can but they put some BS thank you at the end of the game?

Come on the game sucks and they say thank you at the end for basically getting the chance to @$$ Rape you not only with the cost of such a low piece of work but also for a shotty story line.

I don't get it maybe someone else out there does but to me and several other people this game was nothing more then an exspensive mistake for the consumer.

i was reading this guide for the first skull and it said it was at the very end of the game so i loaded the last rally point.
i went to were the skull should be but it wasn't there i even checked with a video clip on youtube and i was in the right place but it wasn't there. why?

hokay, last night, me and ma mate colloected bout 4 gold skulls, i went on this mornin, went on single campaign went on the storm (the 5th level) and using that video, went to get the skull, i went to the top of that storage thing, but it wasnt there, how do i turn skulls on, so they can be found????

If you think it ended poorly then i think you need to watch ALL of the credits. I think yu mite find what your looking for after them. hehe.
