Today's One One Se7ven comic takes on the previously announced gravity adjustment feature in Halo 3's multiplayer. But Stuntmutt isn't all that impressed by this new feature, because he has seen it before in Halo 2. You know, super jumping and getting up ... just check out the comic to get what we are talking about. Also, has anyone been religiously playing Halo 2 for the past few months and know whether the modding/cheating community has taken a vacation? We ran into a few cheaters when working on the beta invite, but is it as prevalent as it was before?

Funny comic. I was happy at the announcement though. It shows that matches are highly customizable and you can have a different experience every time.
Also, I have been playing Halo 2 a lot lately in order to get ready for the Halo 3 beta and eventually the game. Surprisingly, I have run into very little cheaters as well. Really happy about it.
BTW, this is my first post ever. Been just browsing for months, love the site.

I don't see how this is new or innovative either. You could change the gravity back in the original Quake.

Yeah, Modders, Stand-byers and Bridgers have been in full swing lately.
My friend and I have been playing since the beginning, and we hadn't had so much as 9 cheaters to speak of over the course of a year and a half. As of this December, I swear to you, we have had at least 50 games which were adversely affected by Cheaters.
We used to joke to a winning team, "THESE GUYS ARE MODDING!" just to get a rise out of them. Sadly the days of joking about it have passed, as those days where we could roam the bountiful plains of Coagulation free of the thought of someone having so very little life as to mod on a game.

Didn't they do this in the first Unreal Tournament? I mean...it was mostly enclosed levels, but I am pretty sure when the gravity or whatever they called it was turned down, you could jump very high.

they could of at least had the comic in a setting where players actually needed to super jump upto to get. The place they are standing in the comic, can be reached by jumping on an couple allies heads.

Jumping on allies heads?
Hell you can push the damn Jump button a few times and get up there by yourself, or use the little gravity pad thing and have good aim.
Adjustable gravity does not equal "different game play every time"
it means you'll play regular gravity games with ridiculous settings and rules that make no sense, or you'll play super gravity games with ridiculous settings and rules that make no sense.

Yeah, adjustable gravity's been a part of FPS's for many a year. Soldier of Fortune's gravity could be changed in a matter of a few console commands.
As for cheaters, the same thing will happen in Halo 3. There comes a point where you Bungie simply can't do anymore to stop it, and it all relies on the gamer's side. I give it a few months (if not during the beta).

At least with Halo 3 being a proper 360 game, you can report cheaters and get them banned.
