at 00:28 on Portal, the PS3 version enters the elevator FIRST but due to a longer load time it exits behind the 360 version LAST.
that is NOT autosaving.
that is a sloppy port.

ok Sony fanboy. did you read the whole article? did you watch both of the videos? It said, "Also, the PS3 version of Half-Life 2 seems to have some frame rate hitches, especially during autosaves." funny, no mention of portal... if i was going to guess why the frame rate drops during an autosave or why it has longer load time, i would suspect it is because the PS3's Blu-Ray drive is hurting it. the data rate of Blu-Ray is slower than that of a DVD drive. this is not the first time this has happened...

Sony fanboy? I think you misunderstand.
nobody points out that it was slow in that part of the video for the PS3, so i did. I was pointing out how much faster and better the 360 version was.
so it's EA's fault for not working around the loadtimes. the PS3 can make great multi-platform games like COD4. I won't get a PS3 until there is an incentive title tho.

*Vomits at the sight of gamevideos.com embedded players, recovers and grabs nearby pitchfork and torch then proceeds to rush X3F for some disembowling and head piking*
Seriously guys, stop with the gamevideos... you're ownly encouraging them. You have to ingore them if you want them to stop or change their ways.

Looks like the PS3 has framerate issues from time to time too. Take that Sony!

From time to time? It seems like most multiplatform games have frame rate issues on the PS3. Superior hardware my ass. What good is hardware if you can't program for it?

IMHO, looks like the underwater effect is better on XBOX360 than PS3 (check out 0:33 on HL2 video), but it might be lighting problem.
Textures on XBOX360 have better resolution than PS3, check out 1:00 and 1:17 on HL2 video, and compare the texture on the ground.
Portal video on two platforms are so different and it is quite difficult to compare between them.
Nevertheless, I believe framerate is the number one factor that FPS gamers looks for. Right?

Due to the poor loading of th videos I haven't been able to fully watch them. I personally prefer the colours and look of the PS3 portal. I like the darker more vivid colours, but that is my preference.
I can't watch the 2nd vid as it will not load.
But I think the fault is just EA don't know how to port games.

I'm confused. Doesn't the Xbox 360 version also get choppy during autosaves? (I'm in class now, or I'd check for myself)

This is just a bad port, plain and simple. It also doesn't help that Valve hates PS3.

Also take a look at the "tiny" detail behind the scenes:
Orange Box Xbox360 developed by Valve
Orange Box PLAYSTATION3 ported by EA

How many games do we need to see to prove that the PS3 is not really more powerful, harder to program for, and more expensive??
It's pretty obvious that the 360 is the platform of choice if you want the best graphics and best games.
The choices as I seem them
Wii- Fun controllers (for a few games) lackluster graphics lackluster games
PS3 - Expensive Expensive, games do not generally look as good nor do they play as good (Shiny case)
Xbox 360 - Most seasoned, more games, better looking games better playing games.

If you look at multi platform title alone: yes the PS3 loses ... because the Xbox360 is usually the target platform as it has been around a little longer than the PS3 and devs know how to handle it.
But if you look at exclusive titles like Warhawk, Heavenly Sword or Motorstorm just to name a few you can see that Sony's machine can deliver solid high frame rates, high res textures and detailed environments as well.
So please don't judge a system by a multi platform title. I own both systems and when it comes to exclusives both shine.
