Video: Buildings go BOOM! in Bad Company
Yesterday, we made mention of new Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer details and embedded some (super knife!) gameplay footage. We were also quite open about how promising Bad Company is with its solid visuals and destructible environments. So, when we came across the new'ish video above, we figured we'd share. The video shows off the game's destructible everything, including trees, walls, buildings and fences. You'll also see bunch of "love 'em or hate 'em" duffel bags popping out of dead bodies. That'll take a bit of getting used to. Also, we recommend watching the video through the end, because there's some explosive goodness in the final thirty seconds. Boomer go boom!

Looks like another FPS. A good one but, another one.

Still waiting to see a building collapse from excessive damage. But so far it looks pretty cool. Would like to see some more vehicles in action.

I'm honestly not trying to be a troll/ass, but isn't this the same trailer that has been out for weeks/months? I remember getting excited about BC a long time ago BECAUSE of the destructability. I'm pretty sure this is the same vid.
I'm a HUGE Battlefield fan and I absolutely cannot wait to play this. However, as much of a 360 fanboy as I am, I hope they release this on PC. BF just isn't the same on a console.

The reason the buildings most of the buildings wont be completely destroyable is because they want to maintain some of the level design, rather than everyone fighting on a big empty field with no cover.

@Mabooza: Buildings won't collapse. DICE has addressed this question in previous videos. All buildings will have a skeleton structure left after full destruction. They said that they debated it internally. It sounds lame but their reasons behind it and after viewing it makes sense.
My biggest questions about this game is the draw distance. I hate when games have that smoke and cloudy distance background. It looks odd. Obviously it's done to prevent framerate from dropping but it looks like hell.
Also, what were the "whoop whoop" blip noises during the voice commands and in-game discussion? It was odd.

This game looks pretty cool. Expect to see me shooting at random objects the first week or so after it's release. Speaking of releases when does this game come out?

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah, that does make sense from a gameplay perspective. So I'm guessing there are predetermined holes you can blast through walls. And if there's a skeletal structure remaining, I guess that means certain wall (or corner) pieces can't be destroyed no matter how much HE you throw at them. So these predetermined holes act like doors that you can only open with explosives.
Yeah, the draw distance thing is a bit of a concern for me too. All that "fog" gives me 1990s flashbacks. Still, I'm a total BF freak and will probably buy this game no matter what.
