Today, EA released an interesting Mirror's Edge video showing off what the game looked like before it became, well ... a game. This new "Proof of Concept" trailer was one that was created to test to overall concept and serve as a benchmark for what they wanted to achieve in Mirror's Edge. Like we said, the footage is rough around the edges and done way before Faith was chosen to be the main character, so don't be alarmed by the chracter's manly arms. Enjoy the show!

Interesting clip. I always enjoy seeing early test stuff because I'm an animator (not in games, unfortunately).

to be perfectly honest i wish they hadnt shown this. why? i actually like the way this looks better than it does now. reasons why...
1. male character (i HATE playing as chicks in firstperson. it just feels wierd)
2. I actually like the gun combat in this, it looks very unique, diehard action movie-ish
3.the action movie vibe with cars wrecking and going from roof to street, feels kinda like that scene in Casino Royale at the begining.
still gonna be a good game though, just woulda prefered it this way...

Your first reason is dumb. You should care LESS being first person.
But I do hope that being on the ground in the games is that cool and easy enough to get back to the roof, instead of the game forcing you to stay on roofs.

I guess there's a reason Treadstone was shut down...
