It was sweet while it lasted, but the Xbox Live Arcade streak has come to an end. We had 4 original Arcade titles in a row: Small Arms, RoboBlitz, Assault Heroes, and Novadrome. This week ... well, this week we get New Rally-X. Think Pac-Man, only with cars. There's a new assortment of Namco picture packs, too -- one each for Galaga, Pac-Man, and Dig Dug. It's a shame we couldn't see the continued downpour of XBLA goodness (what we wouldn't give to see Castle Crashers or Worms HD). Then again, what should we expect? You always get leftovers after Christmas, right? Here's hoping 2007 brings a slew of original titles to our favorite download service. That's right, a slew. What Live Arcade game are you anticipating the most? Are there unannounced games you'd like to see?

It not really disappointing they released this game this week, more of the fact that when they release classic titles, it would be nice to offer more than one of them. Expeccially since we all know they are sitting on tons and tons of titles, especially rehashed classics. One a week is pretty annoying...
Back to Toe Jam and Earl on the Wii, and then Super Mario Brothers, and then possibly Super Castlevania....which all came out in one day!
Oh, not to mention that Rally-X would keep any one entertained for a maximum of 20 minutes, nothing more.

Personally, I LOVE Rally-X, so this is actually great news for me, haha. :D But I agree - it'd by nice if they released two retro games on retro weeks.

I wish they would fix Assault Heroes. I really want it, but not without the online play working. They don't seem to be addressing the issue at all.

It's really easy to just release packs of ROMs like the Virtual Console is doing. I love some of the stuff on there, but I have a hard time paying $5 for an untouched NES ROM. No additions, no online support, no updated anything. All you get is a text manual.
I'm sure it works for some people, but I find it equally disappointing to some old arcade game appearing on Live for the same price.
I do agree more retro games should come out at a time, though... but from a business standpoint, it probably makes more sense to do it MS's way. It gives each title its time in the spotlight to get some attention. Putting out 3 or so of these things a week would bury a lot of these games.

Rally X is garbage.
I'm looking forward to:
Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan, Classic Board Games, Sensible Soccer, & Mad Tracks

Symphony of the night of course I think that's the big one for all of us.
Also Fatal Fury Special, Metal Slug, Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers all that good stuff.
And Capcom where's the XBLA love?

I have to admit, I wasn't much interested in some of the newer content they were offering save maybe one of the releases. Arcade classics, while old, is like comfort food. You already know what to expect. I just wish Microsoft could offer more classic downloads, ala what we're seeing with Wii on the virtual console.

I was really hoping for the PROMISED Heavy Weapon this week. If anyone remembers, Greg Canessa said himself Heavy Weapon would be one of the ones to hit Arcade by 2006's end. How disappointing. =(
Oh well, I ended up buying Astropop with the 800 points I had instead (Bringing my full Live Arcade games up to 23, one day I will own them all...one day), I didn't really want to embrace a retro game to end of the Live Arcade year, especially one that is not that fun at all.
