Speaking to Gamasutra, Marvel vice president of interactive media Justin Lambros intimated that he would like to see classic Marvel fighting games hit game download services like Xbox Live Arcade. Producing games like X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Superheroes and massive fighting mashups like X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom, fighting fans have fond memories of the collaboration between Capcom and Marvel. When asked about the possibility of such games hitting a service like XBLA, Lambros said, "Yeah, those are among my all time favorites. I'm a huge 2D fighting fan... the Marvel Vs. Capcom stuff has a definite close place in my heart, so we definitely wanna see that stuff live on." It seems that there aren't any firm plans to bring back any specific titles, so don't get your hopes up just yet.
Still, if Puzzle Fighter and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix make an impact on XBLA, maybe we'll see the same kind of attention paid to the Marvel classics.

The current size alotment is too small for developers to put a game like MVC in there, but I bet its gonna get increased soon, it has to, there is no way 150 meg is gonna fit the already announced Quake 3. But hell yes bring these games to me Capcom. And you know, with these will mean the comming of the King Of Fighters. Lets just see how well Fatal Fury Special sells. Supports it and show these guys we want these kind of games and they will.

If these Marvel gems hit XBLA, then all bets are off and there is no contest: Microsoft pwns, and the Arcade is truly an arcade. Now we just need a better controller for fighters, or at least a better D-pad. Microsoft actually does listen to the community, so I expect them to come through with that sometime soon.

MvC2 could fit within 150 MBs if they severely compressed it... but that's how it stands now. Once they add new menus, whatever updates and online components I just don't see how they could fit it in there easily by normal standards.
Really, given the new memory card is 512 MBs, I wish they'd put the limit up to like 300MBs or so.

It would be nice if they fixed the backward compatibility issues they have with MvC2 first. I love playing that game but as it stands right now the artifacting on the characters is so bad the game is unplayable. Feel bad for anyone buying a copy online right now for $100 thinking it will work for 360.

I've seen the internet arguments of Capcom vs. Konami, but I think Capcom pulls ahead just for this game (I'm sorry Snake).

If they do it, I'm hoping they go with an HD remix, and not just a rehash.

That is a complete opinion. While I love MVC2, It is far from the best out there. The game dosn't even run on Capcoms cps3 engine Like Street Fighter 3/Vampire Savior and jo Jo's Bizzar Adventure. Not to mention that Guilty Gear X the series completly destroys MVC in terms of 2d quality. Now that we have established how animation wise it is lacking lets talk game play.
MVC2 is a fun fun game. But in terms of skill it is about worthless and full of more Tick damage than you can shake a stick at. If a player selects Cable/juggernaught/war machine and knows what they are doing guess what, block 1 time and you can kiss that character goodbye, dont block and die that much faster. Dont get me wrong but speaking just about the skill level of MVC2 it is a scrubs game compared to the others.

@1 MVC2 for Dreamcast was only 164MB, so they could easily compress that slightly to fit the 150MB for XBLA.

Actually, the ISO for Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for the original Xbox is around 150mb. This game is very small. It would easily fit on XBLA as it is.

if MvC2 gets placed on XBLA i should hope it gets a lot of balance tweaks, because i do not want to fight the same team every time (Cable, storm and iceman)
MvC1 didn't suffer from balance issues though so a straight port would be fine.
