Available on the XBLM this very moment is the promised Guitar Hero III Boss Battle Pack and it's 100% free with no (guitar) strings attached. Zing! The Boss Battle Pack includes GHIII's three boss songs that are technically included in the retail game, but now as a normal playable tunes. And for the uninitiated, the boss tracks included in the pack are "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and two custom songs written by Tom Morello and the top hat wearing Slash. This may be the only time Activision releases free GHIII content of any sort, so we advise taking advantage of it.

I agree with #1, but at least it's free and not 500 points like they were originally planning to make it.

@#2: Yeah you're right, we should be happy that we get something for "free" that absolutely should have been included in the $100 package I paid for. We should be thrilled to waste our time, precious HD space, and our bandwith to download some free content. Furthermore, we should start a petition that calls for the game industry o start leaving stuff out of games so that we're thrilled later on if we can get it later for free. I wholeheartedly agree with you.

i sure hope gh3 will lower their dlc content prices after it was announced that rock band's will be CHEAPER than gh3's. not to mention rock band has to make each song compatible for the mic and drums as well as the guitar. so there is no reason gh3's should be more expensive.....i'm glad this was free and all but like #1 said this should have been playable once u beat the song in the game.....ridiculous....

I was about to break down and buy the foo fighters pack and... holy crap, it's FREE TOO!!!! THE VELVET REVOLVER PACK IS FREE AS WELL!!!
Looks like Activision is scared about the whole Rock Band DLC Pricing... get on this, who knows if they screwed up or not and made all three free.

the boss battle pack is free forever.
You can download content for games you don't own, it'll implement when you get it. I did it for Rainbow Six Vegas when one of the packs went free for a limited time (and then permanent lol)
