We've been receiving reports from several gamers -- and the Lionhead forums are positively buzzing -- about a game breaking glitch in
Fable II. The glitch occurs during the quest called "Monk's Quest," in which players are tasked with speaking to the Abbot of the Temple of Light in Oakfield. Apparently, if players run into the temple, begin the conversation with the Abbot, and then leave the region before the conversation is finished, they are be unable to resume the quest, thus preventing them from completing the main story. Lionhead is currently working on the issue and advises all players to make sure to finish the conversation and cut scene before leaving the area. At the moment there is no fix for those who have already encountered the glitch.
Another glitch discovered in the game causes those who take one of their heroes into co-op with another player starting a new game. Apparently, when leaving childhood, all experience and gold will be wiped from the co-op character. Lionhead hopes to address this glitch in a title update, but advises players to only play co-op after the childhood stage has been completed.

It is a little buggy. Great game. I love it, but I've been experiencing an annoying bug of my own.
When I'm fighting, it draws in all the experience automatically as if I was holding R. It actually causes my character to get hung up sometimes and get hit for a stupid reason. It's very annoying.

I'm literally just about to go into the temple to talk to the monk so thanks for the heads up. I'm also one of those "lucky" ones who experienced constant freezing and had to spend about 2 hours beating the childhood sequence.
...But it's such a good game I kept with it and I'm incredibly happy I did. I'm a level 5 blacksmith and I'm totally into the free roaming. I love my RPG's and Fable II is still one of the best ever made. =D

Right now I'm kinda pissed. I did this random quest (Rescuing Charlie), and when I finished it, the grandma or whatever was talking crap, so I left. And now the damn Hold A To Skip Conversation thing is EVERYWHERE. I can't get rid of it at all. It's fucking annoying, I can't even see my health. I tried quitting but I had to save cause I did a bunch of shit, and when I came back it was still there. I somehow got rid of it by traveling to some other town, but then it just randomly popped back up.

I had the same thing happen when I was looking at a villager's stats. The "Mark the villager" bar and the "press y for info" just sat there on the top line. I saved, tried talking to others, it wouldn't go away. Finally, I traveled to another town and it left. Hasn't come back yet either.
*On an unrelated note* It doesn't surprise me that there are some bugs. A game this big and ambitious is bound to run into some problems. The first Fable had quite a few and it couldn't get title updates. (At least mine couldn't no internet on the original xbox).

Well yeah I traveled to another place, it went away, but it's still there, even though you can't see it, and since mine is Hold A, I can't do anything that involves holding A, like open doors or steal. And seeing as I haven't beaten the game yet, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need this sooner or later, so I guess I have to start a new fucking game.

I have something like that, except not as severe. Did a Community service quest and the "Criminals remaining: 1" thing froze on the screen. Also, it won't let me play couch co-op anymore.

Over time the game seems to kinda have problems displaying the HUD and deciding what to display. Very odd...but the game is too awesome to care.
Sometimes people just won't speak too, which is a problem.

Hmmm, interesting. Why would you leave the town before finishing the conversation? You can skip all of them right?
Hope they get it straightened out. I'm digging the game and haven't had any problems. *crosses fingers, knocks on wood*

Fable II has been having a lot of problems, each day bringing one more.
Why is it that games for this generation have so many bugs/glitches compared to the PS2/Xbox/NGC era?

Because console gamers are now being treated the way PC Gamers have for years. Since consoles now had harddrives/storage AND internet connectivity, they feel that they can rush games "out the door" and just patch it later. They couldn't do this on xbox/gamecube/ps2 so they had to make sure they got it right the first time. Storage and internet connectivity on modern consoles is a double-edged sword.

Agreed. PC era ftw right? Well, not for me anyway. I may just wait for Fable 2 to get well soon before playing it.

And what doesn't help is you CAN'T copy your saved game to another media, like a memory card. I usually do that with my games in case of HDD failure or saved game corruption.
