I thought I might as well get that out of the way. I'm glad it's doing relatively well. It seems like MS is really trying in terms of titles, but their non-localization of Western games (Oblivion came out in English several months before it came out in Japanese there) and marketing is killing them. I wonder if they fixed that if things could turn around or if it's a permanent image problem.

I really don't think it's a case of xenophobia considering the popularity of many US-based things there. Plus, the MSX was huge over there... sure, it was Microsoft of Japan's work, but it was still Microsoft.

In any case, good to see some blip on the radar. Forza was on the charts over there briefly too.

2. Where has it been said that this is coming to the PS3? Everywhere I look this game is still listed as 360 only.

3. Eternal Sonata really does look like a pretty good RPG.

I really am quite impressed the way games from so many third-party publishers are released first for the Xbox 360. That's an advantage the PS2 had over the Gamecube and original Xbox, but this time the Xbox 360 has that advantage over the PS3.

The cool thing is that the Xbox 360 versions that are released first always are the better version that end up being rated higher, so the PS3 versions really aren't worth waiting for. One look at F.E.A.R., Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and MLB 2K7 are proof of that.

Hopefully the popularity and guaranteed sales of RPG games in Japan for Xbox 360 games like Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata will motivate a company like Square Enix to release games like Final Fantasy 13 and Dragon Quest for Xbox 360.

When you consider that Blue Dragon sold nearly 150,000 copies in just a short time for Xbox 360 in Japan, that is motivation for third-party support with big-name games like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

The Action-RPG I'm looking forward to the most this year is called, "Mass Effect."

Mass Effect is being developed by the same group of developers that created Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic on the original Xbox, and that game was one of the best ever!

Mass Effect won the award for Best RPG at the 2006 E3 show, I downloaded all the video displays of the game from the Xbox Live Marketplace. I have to say, it has me very excited because it combines graphics that are absolutely amazing with new types of gameplay, and gets all of the action to work perfectly in an exciting way that really does make you feel like a part of the action!

I'm pretty sure that video of Mass Effect is still there on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It's free, and it's fun to watch.

4. Eternal Sonata isn't technically an exclusive, or even a timed-exclusive game. The fact of the matter is that the Xbox 360 is just SO MUCH easier to develop games for that the Xbox 360 version of Eternal Sonata is going to be released a LOT earlier than the PS3 version. Like the person above me said, it was like that with lots of other games like F.E.A.R.

It just "seems" like the games are exclusive, because the Xbox 360 verions are available now, while the PS3 versions are such a long time away, and probably won't end up as good as the 360 one, so the Xbox 360 versions keep all the attention.

5. Seriously, the Japanese tend to love all things western except our beloved consoles! I think that if Microsoft packaged a dozen Krispy Kremes with each 360 they'd sell 100K a month!

9. Just checked the ESRB website and its NOT there. So I don't know where you're getting your info from.

For now I don't believe it. But w/e we'll see. And I hope its a 360 exclusive since its a beautiful game and I don't think sony deserves it. Thats my opinion. You can hate it if you want but it won't change it. Nor does it make any less of a person.

12. WHO CARES!

When a game is released FIRST for Xbox 360, and will be BETTER on Xbox 360, then who the heck cares!

That's exactly what will happen since Xbox 360 is easier to make games for.

The Xbox 360 edition will come out, then six months later to a year the PS3 version will probably come out. The Xbox 360 version will probably be $20 less expensive by then, and there will probably be all sorts of downloadable stuff and extra features in the Xbox 360 version since the game was first released. I like the idea of having the game to play first and best a lot more than anything else!

Eternal Sonata is a great game, I'm sure, but it isn't worth killing messengers over, like Gears of War or Crackdown would be! :) BzzzzzChainsawBzzzzzz

I'm not sure what would be better, chainsawing a Locust messenger in Gears of War, or gunning down one of the Gang member messengers in Crackdown, and then watching the Police walk up to his dead body and gratuitously shoot it two or three times for no other reason except pleasure, and then shoot their weapons up into the air like they do! Crackdown is awesome!
