Talking on his podcast, Shane says he has insider info on an unconfirmed rumor that "a big Microsoft first-party title that has been in the works for a very long time that people are very excited for, sounds like it's being canceled. And a Microsoft executive who's pretty high up, who's been a voice for the company, sounds like he's on the way out". Shane says that he believes the news to be 97% true and has an inkling that Microsoft will be making the announcements sometime this week.
So, if the rumor is true, what game and which Microsoft exec will be getting the boot? We figured the obvious target to be Rare's "where the heck have you gone, we haven't heard from you for a long, long while" Banjo-Kazooie 3, but today Rare confirmed that the game is still in development. So, no dice there. Rumor? Truth? Who knows, but feel free to speculate all you want ... now.

Too Human. Bad reviews. Embarrassing lawsuit. Long delays.

Speculations on xbox-scene are that "Too Human" is cancelled. (Publisher is MGS, so that's a first party title).

Exact same thing I thought... Alan Wake.
It's Remedy and MS Game Studios... not sure if that's First Party Enough.
But I'd put even money On Alan Wake!

First party would have to be a studio owned by Microsoft, so Too Human is out of the running since Silicon Knights would count as a second party (similar to Bungie now).
If I was to guess at a public voice being silenced I would suspect that Jeff Bell would be the one. He has too much "used car salesman" in his pitch to be palatable to the market.

Aww it better not be Alan Wake. I've got my hopes up too high over the past couple of years to let them shatter over a simple cancellation. They need to shatter on the rocks of a crappy product if they're going to shatter.

Alan Wake was exactly what I was thinking too. Have not heard a single thing about it in nearly a year.

I don't care to speculate what it is, but I hope it's not something I'm looking forward to. :(
We'll see by Friday. It could easily be Too Human or Alan Wake seems also legit.

It is not Halo Wars, thats retarded. they could stamp Viva Pinata on a disk and put halo on the cover and it would sell.

I hate to say this but everyone here is right on the money, Alan Wake seems to fit all too perfect. Long delays and a ton of no shows spell disaster for this title!! Not to mention, it looks like a cross between Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark!!

It's probably the Peter Jackson/Halo "game". Tyhe movie was ditched and we never hear anything detail wise about this. And please be Peter Bell, he's more wooden than an old man on Viagra.

As mentioned, Too Human is second party and either way, the game has clearly been coming together recently and SK has had press over to view the game. It would just be absolutely bizarre at this point.
BK would be pretty bad and I just can't see MS killing it off. They desperately need some sort of major platforming star, it's the main genre they're lacking it as of right now.
I'd honestly assume Alan Wake too.
