It seems that a few people are experiencing download issues regarding the new Halo 2 maps. Being the wonderful (and hauntingly beautiful) people that they are, Bungie has posted some handy instructions for downloading the maps problem free. The problems arise from 360 users that don't have a credit card associated with their account, which wasn't possible on the original Xbox. If you find yourself in this particular situation you must do the following (courtesy of Bungie.net):
1. In the Xbox Dashboard, select the profile that you want to modify, and then select Account Management.
2. Select Memberships.
3. Select the membership that you want to update.
4. Select Change Payment Options.
5. Select Add Credit Card.
6. Enter the credit card information for the card that you want to add. This can also be a debit or Visa (or similar) gift card, however, some restrictions may apply.
There is also an issue involving European users using PAL-60 TV standard. If you are using this standard and running your 360 over VGA, you will be unable to download the new maps. The solution is to hook up your 360 with a composite video cable to download the maps. Of course, you will need an ordinary television to do this.
Bungie has also listed the playlists that will feature the new maps. Expect the playlist update to arrive next week. In the meantime, the new maps will only be available for custom games. Hit the "read" link for the full story.

i bet some people are going to be pissed about having to add credit card info to their account. i know some folks that religious use only points cards and subscription cards to avoid putting in CC info.

I'm adamant about not putting my credit card number into XBox Live, given that there's no way to remove it and I've heard reports about credit card fraud though XBL. I use only store-bought points cards. Bungie should be able to deal with this and not force people to add their credit card numbers to their accounts. That's just bullshit.

I agree with you, yeah they told us thats it's difficult to configure it...but it's bungie....and microsoft...you would think that they would at least attempt to fix this...
As for me I will not download these maps because I refuse to put my Credit Card into XBL...

Well, again, as mentioned, you can get a debit/credit gift card pretty much anywhere and put like $5 on it. It can't be charged beyond what you put on it, so there's no real room for fraud.
I'd just do that.

me and a few of my other friends have actually had a different problem, while loading the maps someone always manages to fail to load one or another. some people re downloaded the maps and that worked while i just left and rejoined, but still i haven't been in a party where everyone fails and some point.

i had a problem D/Ling them because the card associated with my account expired, even though i had another listed as well, it wouldn't register that through the H2 Downloader. Even though the card expired i still couldn't remove it, but i just changed the card associated with my account and it worked, and it only took like 3 reboots and 20 minutes sorting through the XBL accounts page. take about un-user friendly.

I have an expired card for my origional payment method...I put in my new info and made a new card, but for some reason my Box wont recognize the new card even after switching it to primary(assuming I did that correctly)

Im having the problem with downloading, I purchased them, but it says installation of content failed. See xbox.com come. THis happens over and over again, not working on my 360, any advice, cuz my credit card was charged, yet i dont have the new maps.
