1. Sadly the NDA doesn't allow me to tell you how I feel about this game, oh well back to playing the beta.

2. I'm not surprised that some newspaper article is way off base with their judgement of this game. I have yet to read any decent "reviews" of games in any newspaper. :(

3. Never trust the mainstream press about purchase, find people that like games you like and see what they think. To be honest im going to wait for a demo, or see what the reviews are like on the forums.

4. "Sadly the NDA doesn't allow me to tell you how I feel about this game, oh well back to playing the beta."

So then why comment in the first place? Oh wait, you wanted to be a prick about it.

5. Is he freaking kidding me??? I'd like to know how much time Dean actually had with the game. Those sound to me like 15 minute first impressions.

The game is a blast. I'm currently on the Beta, and while we're not allowed to talk about THAT, I did visit FASA in November and got to play the game. You can read my thoughts here:

There is no way that Dean was able to do this game justice. For one, I've seen some of the other maps that FASA is developing, and they are in a league of their own. In my opinion... as good or better than any game maps you can currently play on the 360.

In my opinion, this is some of the most addicting gameplay since Halo 1. Which makes sense...because they've got the lead designer from Halo working on Shadowrun ;)

6. First time I have heard anyone dislike the game.

7. "I'm not surprised that some newspaper article is way off base with their judgement of this game."

-and

"Never trust the mainstream press about purchase"

You do realize that this is article is from Dean Takahashi, writer of two in-depth books completely dedicated to the history of the development of both XBox consoles? He may have an opinion that you disagree with, but don't misrepresnt him as some clueless outsider.

8. Um, yeah. What Rob said. Dean is all about the Xbox. That's pretty much what makes this article interesting.

9. Well... it looks like a fairly ok hardcore action shooter...

...too bad it lacks SHADOWRUN inside!!!

Seriously, it's loosely based in the actual roleplaying game, and that sucks as Shadowrun has (had) a very nice background... Well, FASA as closing and MS needed some more know IP to use in its games... humph...

10. I'm a huge fan of the SNES/Genesis Shadowrun games, and I was completely disappointed to hear it was going to be turned into a multiplayer-only FPS. Unless this one is incredibly addictive and fun, I'll be skipping it.

11. Why not include a single player campaign with this? Seems like half a game to me...

12. I'm also on the beta and bound by NDA. I will say this - the game has some very interesting gameplay elements.

It's also important to remember that this is still a beta. The game is not yet complete from a contest perspective, and I think it's safe to assume that the graphics will be more polished as it gets closer to release.

And as for the focus on online play, let's be honest - multiplayer is king. I know plenty of people I would not consider "hardcore gamers" and many of them have bought games and played online exclusively (i.e., not dont the single player campaign).
