Anyone who wasn't lucky enough to experience the closed beta of the slightly controversial EA first-person comedy-shooter (not kidding), Battlefield: Bad Company, will soon have their chance. Today EA announced that a demo for the DICE developed title will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN on June 5. The single and multiplayer demo promises to showcase what was in the beta as well as the wacky characters found in the campaign mode. Gamers who decide to pre-order the title from select retailers will be treated an early download of the demo beginning May 29.
For those at home keeping score you'll remember pre-ordering and playing the demo will give gamers access to two of the five controversial weapons found in the beta. Pre-ordering gives gamers access to the QBU88 Sniper Rifle while downloading and playing the demo nets players the UZI Submachine Gun.
Battlefield: Bad Company ships on June 25.

Wait, so these select retailers, do we have to pay them a visit to get our early demo codes? All I got was the keychain and gun codes. Gonna return my preorder at gamestop anyway cause I hate them, and then move it to Gameware (awesome bunch of local guys who own their own store, mom & pop store if you will).
Pretty excited for this game and Battlefield Heroes. DICE is an awesome developer, hating this game because it is published by EA is ignorant.

Speaking of Gamestop, etc. At the GTA midnight launch there were about 500 people waiting at Gamestop, and across the street nearly 100 waiting at Walmart, and about 20 at Gameware, all within walking distance. People are mindless sheep, hanging out inside (rather than outside walmart and gamestop in the heat) with cool people was the way to go. I was the first there (before the owners) at 11:30, who casually strolled in while laughing at the people who'd been waiting at Gamestop since 5:00pm for GTA.

I hope the demo allows you to invite people, a lot of people I knew didn't really like the beta because we couldn't do it together. I shall make sure I make a run to GameStop and get the early demo.
