When Bizarre Creations' third-person shooter The Club released its list of achievements, gamers laughed at the team's one-up of the Gears of War online kill count--months later it appears DICE wants in on the joke too. Peaking at the achievement list available at MyGamerCard, Battlefield: Bad Company includes one achievement, "Beans Bullets Bandages," that awards players 30 GS points for achieving 10,002 kills online.
While it was humorous the first time now we're just worried the achievement will become a trend.
The rest of the list includes your standard mission completition, difficulty setting points with half of the achievements dedicated to the Battlefield: Bad Company's online modes. One thing to note, for a title that was hailed as primarily a single-player focused experience, we wonder why nearly half of the achievements are multiplayer only. Battlefield: Bad Company is set to release on June 23.

Agreed Xav. These clowns probably think they're being funny, but it's just unoriginal. Hopefully somebody cuts it out before it gets too crazy.

I think it's kind of funny myself. The first game to 10100 gets a cookie.

This achievements are very annoying, I shouldn't have to play a game online for 3 weeks solid to get all the achievements.
Something I didn't know about the game is that there's some sort of image system, check the achievements
Catch The ‘Bad’ Moment
(Online) Take 3 pictures using the image system

Some really nerdy dev may make this achievement
Get 10011100010000 kills.
10011100010000 being the binary for 10,000
I would prefer this
Get 16 kills.
10000 being the binary for 16.

Yes, because achievements are what define a game.

If the achievements reveal how out of touch EA is with the series, then so be it.
Keep the cool phrases for when you actually have a point. Kthx.

Is EA making the Game? No. Dice is. Get your facts straight.

People are fucking stupid. You clearly have no idea what the difference is between a publisher and a developer. EA gives DICE pretty much free reign with their development. DICE makes great games, not buying this game because EA published it is ignorant. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about and know nothing about the game. DICE addressed EA about the negative attention the charging for weapons caused and now offers them for free.
Go to bed troll.

IMO, this isn't as hard as the GoW "Seriously..." achievement. Bad Company has respawns and many more enemies in a single match. I've got over 10k kills in Call of Duty, and it didn't take nearly as long as it did to reach the 10k mark in Gears...

I don't see the problem it's an *achievement* if it's possible to do, doesn't involve a silly amount of luck then it's fine by me normally.
I'm hoping gears 2 has a 20 thousand kill achievement, seriously wasn't enough i went up and past that. :P

This is redculous why can't Microsoft stop achievements that could concievably be considered impossible unless all you did was play that game and was good at it. I mean to get this achievement in A YEAR, you need to average 1000 kills a month for 10 months and then get 2 kills. This along with all their other screw ups in this game is making me just give EA the finger on it and not even renting it.

While I agree that this Achievement will/should take a fair bit of time.... that's also the point.
It's a 'replay factor' Achievement. People seem to think that every Achievement is owed to them the moment they boot the game, and that's something I hope that people can push out of their minds.
If you're interested in Achievements, chances are you play games fairly frequently. Looking over my Halo 3 stats from last night, I had just under 250 kills in just a few hours of play.
Assuming you get in an hour a day, per week (per average; an hour on Tuesday/Wednesday, 3 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, etc), it's absolutely feasible (and likely) to get 8,34 kills per month to satisfy the 10,002 in a year.
But that's OKAY - Nobody said you need to have all of the Achievements in a week. Heck, I'm still missing most of the Achievements from my launch titles (I should fix that sometime).
Achievements are earned, not given. If you want it, you'll work to obtain it, right?

Earned yes, but not everyone is good enough to do that in a reasonable ammount of time. Also I'm not saying it should be super easy to get. There needs to be a balance lime somewhere between 1000-5000 that's still a lot kills that requires time and skill but is not insane like 10000 kills. I mean seriously there has be like 200 or so of the thousands of people playing those games who get those types of legit
I don't think you should be able to get them all in a week or be given them either but when a game has become in a way a second job to get the achivements other than in role playing games like Mass Effect then its starting to cross the line of rediclous.

Who defines a 'reasonable' amount of time? I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect that an Achievement like this might take a year or more for those who
A) Are not that passionate about gaming, or
B) Somehow cannot increase their skill at a game in that sort of timeframe.
Speaking of B (which I honestly believe is a little far-fetched), this falls in line with your "not everyone is good enough to do that"... But I think EVERYONE is good enough to do that, just .... 'eventually'.
It's just whether or not you put in the time and practice to learn and increase your skills as a gamer.
Nobody (of worth) is going to give you a hard time for not having this Achievement in a month. Just have fun with it, earn these at your own pace.

Meh, if they were going to continue the trend, they should've continued the naming scheme.
"Surely you can't be serious"
Get 10,002 kills online.
Opens the door for the next game:
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
Get 10,003 kills online.
Come on, "Beans, Bullets, Bandages"? WTH?
