Video: Shedding some light on Assassin's controls
The one worrisome question mark we've hard regarding Assassin's Creed has been the game's control scheme. We've wondered how exactly combat will play out, how fleeing enemies works and if the counter weapon system would be effective and enjoyable. And it's possible the Ubisoft crew heard our worried cries, because today they tried to calm our Assassins anxiety with a new video titled Developer Diary: Fight System. It's a super brief and basic overview of how the controls work during fights and combat in Assassins, but maybe it'll put your control worries to rest ... if at least for a bit.

I played AC at the London HMV event and picked up the controls within SECONDS. It's easy as pie. Don't be worried at all.

this control scheme reminds me of the ps1 and ps2 metal gears. of course, they aren't mapped in the same way, but i imagine both have a bit of a learning curve. but just as you could do almost anything you wanted once you got used to mgs' controls, i bet you'll have that same feeling of freedom once you wrap your mind around assassin's creed's controls.
i'm definitely excited for th 14th!

I'm wanting to be excited for this game (it doesn't help that UPS is picking up my console tomorrow for repairs ;_;) but with so much hype...its starting to feel a whole lot like heavenly sword all over again.
cinematic feel, fluid controls, amazing graphics etc etc.
I really hope this game doesn't fall short as it has/had the potential to be amazing.
Oh and i hope the game doesn't last like sub 4-5 hours without cutscenes and sitting larking about stalking through the crowd and "soaking up the atmosphere". I've just got this feeling the game is going to be tiny.
Oh well, i hope AC proves me wrong and blows us away. Lets hope it lives up to the hype.

Toro, remember, you get sloppy seconds after me.
Other than that, I think this pretty much just finished selling the game to me. I was about 95% sold, but now I'm 100% sold. Now I just need the deets on what size the action figure is in the limited edition. That'll determine which version I get.

The escape mode sounds just like the Need for Speed system. Cops are chasing you, break line of sight, and find a spot to chill until the icon goes blue. That'll be easy enough for me to pick up.
