There was a time when Sonic the Hedgehog 2 -- now available on Xbox Live Arcade -- was accompanied by much fanfare and bizarre commercials. Alas, that time is gone and we are left only with tiny little announcement posts like this one. Still, the quality of the game hasn't been diminished. Actually, in light of Sonic's more recent console endeavors, the quality may actually have increased. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 improves on the first game in a number of ways. It introduces Sonic's bosom buddy Miles "Tails" Prower, split-screen multiplayer, and Sonic's trademark spin dash. It's definitely one of the best games in the series and worth checking out.
carrying on a recent trend of answering my own questions, the answer is yes, it features the same save-state (save anywhere) feature that Sonic 1 XBLA does
what i wanna know is why they advertised it all over the web to have ONLINE CO-OP when it only has ONLINE VS...only reason I got it was to co-op online with other ppl.
The coop in Sonic 2 was pants. If you were tails, you were constantly waiting for Sonic to sit still for 2 seconds so you could land and follow on foot. Never happened.
I hope they still have the teleport boxes in multiplayer. CCHHHEEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWWW! Right back to the start!

Yeah. I remember that too. The tackle box, the bald spot, the julianne fries...
...the embarrassing warranty claims.

Can't we just skip ahead to Sonic CD?
(And include both soundtracks this time!)
