After an unfortunate delay, the demo for skate from Electronic Arts has finally hit Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo is, according to Joystiq, a spiritual experience. You have thirty minutes to grind as much fun as you can out of the skate park included in the demo. A tutorial helps you master the flick-it controls, and then you are set loose upon the new skating frontier. When your done, don't forget to upload a movie of your exploits for all the gaming world to see. Should Tony be watching his back? You tell us.

im playing it at the moment, after it taking about 4 hours to download! (im in the UK)
the flick-it controls are very hard to get used to specially the timing of it but its so satisfying to finally do stuff after practicing
unless something very major pops up this will going in my collection sooner rather than later :-D

RRoD on August 2nd. Its still being "fixed" although in Canada, 360's get replaced and not repaired. IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG TO REPLACE A FUCKING CONSOLE! JUST GET IT BACK TO ME NOW! FUCK!

Hm 30 minutes... probably a dumb question but that doesn't mean you can only play the demo once does it? I've been downloading for 4 hours and I only have 26% :)

I had that happen to me with my last repair...It just means its sitting in their warehouse and hasn't been picked up by UPS yet.
Mine's still being "repaired" and I have NO word about it. Its been with them for over a week. It's annoying.
I've missed out on 2 WEEKS of Forza 2 giveaways in Canada. BULL FUCKING SHIT!

You can play the demo as many times as you want but you need to complete the tutorial every time you restart it. That only takes 3-4 minutes tops though once you're into the game and you skip the instructions.
This game is...amazing.
Seriously i dont think i've ever been so gratified while playing a skating game...or any other game for that matter.
The satisfaction you get from simply kickflipping onto a box, manualling along and heelflipping off is just immense. Its really hard to do and takes some serious skill. I gave myself a little cheer when i first managed it for one of the challenges in the demo.
The whole idea of setting up your line etc is also really fun and interesting.
This game is going into my collection day #1 for sure.
The skating genre will never be the same again. THPS is dead to me :P

Wow. This game is a day one buy for me. I can't believe how cool the control scheme is. I am in love with this game. It just feels so dang good. Tony is in big trouble. Like Jeff said, there's a really cool element of satisfaction to everything.

Coming from someone who has skated for over 7 years, this game is PERFECT. The physics, the concepts, the control scheme, the animations, the style, the ability to be creative with your lines, everything about this game is what a skateboarding game should be. I friggin LOVE this game, and I have only gotten to play a small portion of it.

I LOVE this game, but a problem has arisen. I've uploaded my footage to "the web." How do I view it? It was the sickest line ever, and I don't know how it looks. :(

Great. I wait 3 weeks for this demo and I get FOUR red lights on my 360 on Sunday. Thanks for the delay EA.

@ 17, spunkyMP4, u dont have the ring of death, lol. 4 red lights means the wire that connects from the 360 to ur TV is out.

man, sucks this demo isn't available in new zealand yet. I love Tony Hawk, but I'm very interested to check out something with a different approach to the control scheme

Its challenging enough to make harder tricks worth landing (plus they look amazing) Not too easy to get boring quick.. Took me a little to figure out how to 360 flip and do varials, its all about the preload. I'm having trouble figuring out how to incorporate manuals in my lines...any suggestions?
