Right, so, Ecco the Dolphin came out yesterday for Xbox Live Arcade. It is, according to some, a classic of the 16-bit era. For us (and by us I mean me), there was something truly compelling about swimming freely in the ocean and traveling through time (if you can get that far). Now, despite all this, there was something that turned Ecco into one of the most terrifying experiences of our (i.e. my) youth: the effing sharks. Brought up by movies like JAWS, seeing sharks in Ecco was more frightening than any zombie could ever be. That is why we (I) urge all of you to earn the "Shark Killer" achievement. Sure, it's only worth 10 points, but at least you'll be conquering your (my) childhood fear. Head over to GamingTalkHQ for the full achievement rundown.

I never played this game when it was on the megadrive, is it worth the 400 points? To me sonic and goldenaxe were a steal at that price, will I think the same here? And before you say, yes I am cheap!!!

I loved the first Ecco. Though I remember getting to the final thing I was never able to kill it. My memory of the game is foggy but I know I liked it. I wanted to like the one on the Dreamcast but I could never figure out what to do and always got lost.
If I wasnt busy with Madden planning to be busy with Bioshock and Two Worlds then Stranglehold Id pick it up but I just dont think Ill have the time or drive to play it.

I played this game for the first time yesterday, and had to stop and think, "what am I doing?"
I read the help option and all, but still felt helpless. I was swimming in circles for 10 minutes jumping in and out of the water, sending radar beams out every 3 seconds, supposedly looking for a crystal.
Not gonna get the achievement cause I'm not buying the game. For the rest of you, have fun with it.
