The past few days' new Marketplace content has brought a few gamer pictures, themes, videos and other downloadable treasures, but be warned that most will cost you. Transformers is all the rage right now and so you can download a handful of Transformers themes for 150 Microsoft points apiece and two picture packs that run you 200 Microsoft points. Also, there's a new Carcassonne picture pack, Class Pics 110 picture pack, Ninja picture pack and a free Volkswagen gamer pic (where did that come from?) for Canadian Xbox Live members. And if themes/gamer pictures aren't your cup of tea then download the Fable 2 demo video featuring Peter Molyneux or spend your cash on some Marvel: Ultimate Alliance strategy guides. You're still missing some stuff. There were 2 Harry Potter themes released yesterday and a new Metal Battalion Maidens theme from Team DZN this morning. All of which are on http://dashboardthemes.com and are listed at 150 points.

I really would like to meet the people who would actually pay for strategy guides, when you can find most of that info for free online. And I always though Gamer Pics and Themes were pretty dumb to purchase unless you just have extra points that you cant do much with. Harry Potter is gay. Just had to add that.

Don't support the microtransaction model by continuing to purchase gamerpics.

May I ask why any game, etc charges for the picture packs? Isn't this free publicity when someone looks at your gamertag? I just can not understand paying for pictures. Theme's I can sort of see.
Maybe it is how Radio has gone, where playing music used to be looked at as publicity whereas now the RIAA want to do things like run internet radio out of biz with all the fees.
When/why did free become so avoided for insane micro transactions?

as long as people are paying for gamerpics, comapnies will keep charging for them. (demand drives supply).
