It's Friday which means it is once again time to ask our beloved readers, "what are you playing?" This week, for many of you anyway, presents us with a simple answer. That answer is, of course, the Halo 3 beta. You can bet your booties that's what we'll be playing it. Oh yeah, we'll be playing the snot out of it. You hear us? The snot! How about the rest of you, what will you be playing this weekend? After all, we can't all be playing the beta.

2. Did they take inverted controls out of Beta? My friend brought his 360 into work today and I was playing it (it's freaking awesome BTW) but I couldn't find an invert option. He has his game defaults set to inverted from the dashboard but still no inverted during game play.

8. Will certainly be playing tons of the H3 beta while it is available. The game play is great and the visuals are much improved, but I have to say GOW still takes the cake in the eye-candy department.

I love both games, and appreciate the the difference in style of game play for both. Of course, H3 will win hands down for match-making though.

16. this game is a joke to all halo fans, with all that cash they made from us you think they would have liscensed the unreal engine 3, i am definatly not picking up this old gen game just for new maps, new weapons, and vehicules, very dissapointing IMO, milk this one for as much as you can bungie, cause you about to go belly up ;)

20. Halo 3, but only if my internet connection plays nice. I can usually only get 1 or 2 games in before it disconnects me. Halo 2 does the same thing. I'm beginning to wonder if it's my 360 and not Comcast.

I was honestly a little shocked at how similar 3 is to 2. The gameplay is smooth, though I think the hit detection could use a little work (especially with the head shots), and the death animations are odd- the players seem to die and fall in the direction opposite to what you'd expect. It makes it more difficult to determine if you killed him.

Also, the sound is a bit off- no matter where you're getting hit from, it always /sounds/ like it's coming from behind.

The "battle rifle's been nerfed" critics are wrong- the four shot is still there in a big way. I comboed a couple people last night (simply to see if it still works- sorry.) It's still useful, but the range has been dropped quite a bit.

I don't like downgrading the sniper. I can see why they wanted to make the weapon slightly more tactical and therefore slower, but I believe that they've overdone it a bit.

Fragment and plasma grenades seem to do even less damage now then they did in version 1.0 of Halo 2. I haven't been able to tell how much I like the spike grenades (though I did stick a ghost with one). Must we get low-powered grenades and await an update, again? I do like that the halo-1 trajectory has been reinstated.

Duel-wielding spikers is fun, deadly, and a cheap way to with rumble pit matches. I suggest you try it.

They removed BXB and BXR, or if they didn't, they made it very difficult to pull off. A shame- that glitch unintentionally created a fantastic skill move.

The graphics are, as I expected, underwhelming. I have faith that Bungie intends to wow those playing the beta in September with vastly improved visuals.

Sorry, last night was my first experience and just wanted to share.
