Speaking to Edge magazine, Alexandra Constandache, CEO of Zuxxes Entertainment, clears up a few points about their upcoming MMORPG Two Worlds. It was announced in February that Two Worlds had become a massively multiplayer online game. It seems that some confusion arose concerning the term MMO, but Constandache notes that Two Worlds was designed from the ground up as an MMO title. She goes on to explain that there is some difficulty in defining the term MMO, noting that all that separates Two Worlds from other MMOs is that it will lack monthly subscription fees (if you don't already know, Two Worlds will be free to play). Finally, Constandache defends Two Worlds from those that would simply label it a poor man's Oblivon, saying that anyone who plays the game think otherwise. Two Worlds, says Constandache, will be much more accessible to gamers who "may not want to wade through unfriendly interface and mundane tasks before they find where the fun is." Sounds good to us.

A free MMO on 360? I'm guessing Local Headset Chat, if not with keyboard?
Count. Me. In.
When my 360 gets back from repair. And I find the money to make this purchase.

I have always wanted to play Oblivion with a friend over XboxLive. Oblivion is simply gorgeous graphically, so I don't mind a little drop on the graphic side to be able to play Coop with a friend! Seems very interesting to me...

I can't wait for this. Oblivion was one of the best games I've played for while, but even after giving it a good 90 sweaty hours, I couldn't conjur up any more interest in it. The hilarious AI glitches and dungeons just wore me down.
I'm hoping this has the same grand magnitude as Oblivion did. The MMO part of it will certainly add a whole lnew level of interest for me.

no way will this be an MMO unless you count diablo II and phantasy star online / universe as MMO... i just cant see how they can back up the cost of running servers and game updates without adding a monthly fee.. flame me down if this is an mmo like ffxi and wow.. but untill i see it.. ill cant poosible beleave they can finance this...

Rikaru, I don't see updates being a problem, as Epic has shown just how much post release content a game company can release. Not to say the downloads will be as numerous as World of War Craft (I presume) but the game will probably be supported to some extent. As for dedicated servers? I too am feeling this may be something more like you and some friends running around the Two World world, but I think they could work something out for servers for free *cough*ads*cough*.

hmmm, Hopefully there is a demo. I cared nothing for this game, but now that I hear its free MMO, AND its easier to have fun then oblivion, I want to try it.
I hated oblivion so much. Played the game through the first dungeon, got to a town, accidently sworded a gaurd and he chases me and kills me even tho I was running and did not want to fight. I forgot to save and didnt want to play that whole dungeon area again so I stopped playing. It also pissed me off how you start oblivion up and your able to aqquire a full inventory of random items in 2 minutes, upon which time you must choose which items to bring with you (as you cant carry them all) but you have no idea what all these random items you have do. WAYYYYYYYY to confusing and garbage. I cant get over what a terrible game it was. And im puzzled on why people like it so much? Perhaps they bought it, did not want to waste the money they spent and kept playing until they liked the game and became addicted (like those WOW suckers). A game should entertain you in the first 5 minutes I say or its no good.

I'll be picking it up, but there's no way it could ever be as good as Oblivion. (250+ hours spent roaming the province of Cyrodil)

Oh and #8, I'm sorry you lack the patience to play a real, deep game. Go play GTA or something.

So, wait... what?
Does that mean it has absolutely no single player side?
The awesome single player quests etc were the main reason I loved Oblivion.
I'm not sure if I'll get the game if it lacks any single player.
Don't get me wrong I like the MMO idea - but the WoW craze has turned me off of ever wanting to play an MMO.

there's a single player, but they reeeally need to bump up the character models:

just look at the size of their heads!!!

A free MMO is totally possible. Guild Wars has been doing it for 2 years on the PC. An MMO doesn't have to follow the WoW formula to the letter in order to qualify as an MMO.
Anyway, Two Worlds looks very nice. Too bad it's been delayed!

This sounds great, I have been looking at the game for a while now, because i love the idea of a multiplayer oblivion, and the persistant world sounds absolutely awesome, as does the human/orcish choices to be made. But I have never heard of the term MMO being put to two worlds, I think it may not bee the traditional everyone in one area MMO like WoW, but more diablo 2 style multiplayer, with instance type worlds with up to about 8 people in a peer-to-peer situation, which to me sounds great aswell. and to #8, how hard was it to choose in the first dungeon... the only choices were light or heavy armor and blade or blunt or bow. they are not hard choices, and they dont effect your endgame, you should really try the game again, as you dant have to worry about what you take... just take the item of what you would like to play as.

AS they say define MMO do they mean a massive multiplayer game or the before rumored 8 player co-op?
Don;t like how they keep saying its hard to define it as an MMO. I don't think it will be 100's of players? maybe just 10 players in massive world. Which would still be very cool :D On my pre-order list! Any firm dates yet?

Just to clarify, Two Worlds follows a similar format to Phantasy Star Online/Universe. The game's towns serve as hubs where you can interact with hundreds of players. Quests, however, are instanced and limited to 8 players.

'Will be much more accessible to gamers who "may not want to wade through unfriendly interface and mundane tasks before they find where the fun is."' Precisely the reason I sold Oblivion.
They need to work more on the character models, although.... many MMORPG's have reached success without fancy GFX e.g Runescape, Adventure Quest (or sumthing like that)
