In a surprisingly late announcement, Bizarre Creations just released their second big arcade title to the XBLA ... Boom Boom Rocket! BBR offers crazy colorful visuals while you master setting off fireworks in rhythm to various music tracks. This fireworks show will set you back 800 Microsoft points and be released to the US, Canada and Europe initially with other territories to follow. We're excited to see if all the exploding fun is worth the 800 points, but knowing full well that there is no online multiplayer makes us a little cautious. No matter, that's what demos are for, so there is no reason not to give it a download. But remember fanboys, always have an adult nearby when exploding your fireworks. We don't want to hear about one of you accidentally blowing off your arms. Now, where's our lighter?
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

I loved the graphics but the game was boom boom boring lol. I might have picked it up for 400 but 800 is a little too much for how long ild play this game. I LOVE that live arcade is still on a roll of new stuff and GREAT ports. Quake III Arena is gonna be awesome, no more New Rally X.

Hella good fun, particularly once I worked out that you can use ABXY instead of the d-pad.
Button detection feels a little bit dubious at times, not helped when the screen doesn't even register the button press if you're more than a millisecond off, so you can't tell whether you mistimed it or whether it didn't detect the button.
Just became the second person in the world to achieve A* on Rave New World on Hard difficulty

I think the game is a boring piece of crap. Pretty much Guitar Hero with really trite songs and zero fun.

This game rocks! 800 points works at £8.25 (the price of 1000 ms points), so it is kinda expensive but its bloody good. The music is excellent, the graphics are good and the gameplay is lots of fun. Like geometry wars, it looks and sounds good, and it's so simple and fun.
I think I'll buy it!

Though I like NEW stuff on XBLA 800 points seems to much for this game, are there ever going to be 600 point games?? BBR is not a 400 point game but it isn't a 800 point either, 600 points would have been perfect. Oh well at least I can play the demo!!

This game rocks! its very similar to all the other frequency/amplitude/guitar hero button pressing lsd trip music games... but still fun as hell.
Will they allow so we can use our own songs during actual gameplay? I have tons of hardhouse/hhc stuff that would totally own during gameplay.
Favorite song so far in BBR... the Mountain dew one (i cant remember the exact name.. but yeah)
So funny.. on hard mode, you can start off perfect.. but miss one rocket, and your beat matching gets totally effed... much fun much fun..lol

I was interested in this for 400 MS points, but at 800? I'd rather spend it on Castlevania.

kinda late, but i just bought it, and i love it....as a 34 yo gamer that works full time and has kids, sometimes i just don't have time to sit down and play too long....games like this are perfect for me. easy, quick, and painfully addicting.
