Over at the MMA.tv boards, a member by the name of "Kneeblock" asked Dana White about the future installments of Ultimate Fighting Championship games, and pointed out his opinion that added fighters to the same game four times over isn't innovation. Much to everyone's surprise, Dana White actually responded saying that THQ would be taking the helm of the next UFC game and promised that it will set a new standard for the series.Unfortunately, the thread has since been removed, but that just adds fuel to the proverbial fire, right? So, THQFC (phonetically a portmanteau) sounds pretty promising, considering the last time we played a UFC title was on an Official Dreamcast Magazine demo disc. What do you think about it, though?

I think it's freakin' sweet! It's funny you should mention Dreamcast, as UFC was probably my favorite game on the system...it seemed so realistic and the sounds were just amazing. I can only imagine what a fully next-gen UFC game will look/sound like. Call me giddy. Or Mike.

I love MMA and I'd rent it/buy it simply because I'm a fan. On a side note, I think the questions you guys always ask at the end of your posts, such as the one at the end of this one: "What do you think about it, though?" are kind of lame. I mean, if people are compelled by the blog posts on this site, they're going to post. An occasional question is fine, but it seems like you're trying to stoke the fire and get responses when you should rely on the interesting nature of your posts alone to generate buzz and comments. Just a thought....I mean, I read a lot of blogs and it seems like the "heavy hitters" avoid this.

I've always wondered how game designers translate the subtle art of hugging a man on the floor while trying to put his head in between his legs, to the world of video games. I'm curious now...

there has been one thing wrong with the UFC games and this is a nice intergrated Fighting Style system. Things they need to do would be have a updated roster on marketplace for when ever more fighters go to UFC since they recently purchased PRIDE. I want also to be able to play as every one not just the big shots. Of course I want to be the Iceman and beat the hell out of Ortiz but I also want to be Jason Dent and Forrest Petz. I think they need to get the roster down the styles down and then they should be pretty good. Ether way I would love to beat the sh!t out of my buddy over live.

I had the old dreamcast game. it was fantastic.
I was wondering if the UFC will have a new game design? The sport is so complicated, and the old ps2, xbox, dc gameplay won't stand up to the new game standards.

I have sudden impact and t.d and both games are good but if THQ is making the new one then it should blow the other 2 out of the water. The one thing that I think they really need to improve on is the career mode it should be way more in depth make it sort of like a ultimate fighter style career and once you are done give you the option to take your created fighter online to face other's arond the world. But here is a question for you all who should be a the cover?

its got to be Mr.mma the one,the only captain America Randy Couture, in the words of joe Rogan "that dude's my hero"! He should def be on the front cover. I cant wait to play this game, i hope it truely is a next gen game and not like the old ones for the xbox, it needs to take the best bits from fight night series for the stand up! and take the best bits from wwe smackdown games for the wrestling! and they really need to study the ju jitsu and make it a fun game. as THQ are making it then it should be good, also there needs to be good commentary, It has to be Joe Rogan and Goldman or whatever his name is, thanks guys please tell me what you think

I realy ejoyed the pride Fc Games with the one punch wipeouts if your not carefull...but it lacked depth and i hope THQ can do i good job.
NitroFrost is right they need 2 make More Fighers Avaliable..everyone from Bass Rutten to Bj Penn
and Creater Fighter would be Amazing if u start off as basicaly a Sh!t Fighert then learn ur craft be it MFS or BJJ or just freestyle fighter.
roll on next-gen ufc game...bring on big John Macarthey....lets get it on!!
