Heavy Weapon co-op is a blast

Okay, we just finished a Live co-op survival session on Heavy Weapon. In short, Heavy Weapon co-op is fluid, fast, and a hell of a lot of fun. This is great news considering the recent co-op woes of Assault Heroes. Like any survival game, it starts off slow enough, but soon it escalates to the point of sheer insanity. There are so many things happening on screen that it's impossible to keep track of them all. The air is filled with a solid cloud of bullets, missiles, lasers, aircraft, and general mayhem. And it's 'effing awesome. Some will no doubt deride Heavy Weapon for its simplicity, but we praise it for the same reason (and we dig its retro sensibilities). Oh, and if you like earning achievements, survival co-op offers plenty of them. You could easily earn six in one session. Surviving for twelve minutes is tough, but it's made much easier with three buddies (though to be fair we only made it just past thirteen on our first try). For those of you who have Heavy Weapon, give online co-op a try. It's sure to bring back plenty of arcade memories (hopefully memories without the creepy guy who played way too much Galaga).

2. I agree. I've only just now come off of an online survival game, it's insane from 8 minutes onwards! Maybe I could give ya a game sometime Sensei, might help me get to that elusive 12 minutes :)

3. I made it to 17 minutes with a group of people lastnight. Holy smokes does it get intense, there is so much going on the screen it becomes impossible to figure out what exactly is going to kill you. Luckily the plasma shots are bright pink and you can pick them out because I consider those to be the biggest threat, besides the Atomic bomb dropping planes.

7. This game is crazy fun, especially in multiplayer mode. It may look simple, but don't be deceived. The action never stops (until you die, lol).

8. Definitely.

The single player is old school fun with giant bosses at the end of each level. Ahhh the good old days!!

Multiplayer is frantic and fun! Only played a few games but the best was Game Over at around 11mins 30secs in. Gutted! I wanted the 12 minute achievement!

9. At first I wasn't so sure about Heavy Weapon, so I got the trial version to test the waters. By the end of the first round/level I upgraded without hesitating. Heavy Weapon is another recent XBLA offering that demonstrates how cool XBLA can be by giving us downloadable games that are alot of fun to play. Roboblitz, Small Arms, Assault Heroes, and now Heavy Weapon, are helping to make XBLA one of the 360's better secondary feature/component. It's all about the games; as it should be.

My friends list is rather meager; anyone looking for a www.xbox360fanboy.com reader to play some co-op can reach me at my gamertag: coalhalo
I'm almost always up for a game.
