After Gamespot released its comparison of 360 graphics versus PS3's, ZDNet felt obligated to get the people's opinion. ZDNet's own Adrian has posted a poll asking which console has the best graphics with your options being the Xbox 360, PS3 or a PC. I don't know how fair it is to compare consoles whos software development cycles are a year apart, but I'm throwing caution to the wind and voting on the prettiness factor none the less. And of course I would never tell you who to vote for (even though this is Xbox 360 Fanboy), but if you look at the image above, you'll see a certain winner emerging with around 50% of the votes. Take a look at the evidence, become edjamacated, and go vote!

how many of the voters do you think actually have a 360 and a PS3 in their homes to compare?

The way things are going xbox seems to have the upper hand. The graphic capabilities are close enough that game makers aren't going to spend the extra money to use all of the ps3's 'more powerful processor.' If the ps3 can push better graphics the only game makers that are going to spend the extra buck is sony in house games. From the screen shots of the EA games they both look pretty much the same to me, only minor differences.

Is that a minor subliminal message i see behind the image at the top? Xbox360 does it say? Well, who am i to contradict (what i perceive to be) subliminal messages...

I didn't realize Chicago Cubs syndrome could spread so easily to PS3 fanboys.

You gotta wonder how much more difficult the PS3 is to program when after an extra 8 months to a year of work on a PS3 version it doesn't look as good as the 360 version with less time in the oven.
After all, developers have had PS3 SDKs, according to Sony, for as long as they've had 360 SDKs.

Kalroy you are correct! The dev kits(well a form of a devkit) have been in the hands of the developers as long as the 360 has. But you will never get a Sony fanboy to admit it.
I am one of the few who own both systems and I can tell you I'm playing my 360 more than the PS3. RFOM and the Motorstorm demo are about it, the rest I can play on the 360 and with a true online experience. It's natural in console gaming that the graphics get better and better over time, so it will happen for the PS3, but the 360 will as well. From what many major devs have said the 360 is easier to program for so that process might be faster for 360 games. Right now if you look at games that are on both platforms games like Fight Night 3 look better on the 360 while the devs have had LONGER time to develope it for the PS3.

The game has just started, and I see again 360 fans bragging about an early victory. If you are so confident, you'll do better being quiet. Just enjoy de game and party later, no need to bash the competence.
In the end, I think both consoles will render similar graphics, with minor differences owned to the developers' effort at some particular games (provided all things are kept at 720p, you know what I mean...)

Conclusion from Gamespot feature :
"We're going to give the PS3 the benefit of the doubt in this initial round since developers might need more time to figure out how to maximize performance from the Cell and the RSX. If you look at the Xbox 360's first Madden game, Madden 06, you'll notice that it doesn't offer very realistic stadium shadows, either. The trouble with buying a console at launch is that you often have to wait for the second or third generation of games for the system to fulfill its potential. The PS3 didn't beat the 360 in this first comparison, but the games do look fine for first-generation titles. The real graphics battle will likely come next year."

The PC getting beat by a console? nope. The 360 is powerful but the PC will always be ahead of consoles. The 8800 gtx is a prime example.

I've never seen anything to the likes of Gears' graphics on the PC (I have an avid PC gamer in the household). I don't even like Gears of War that much. But for the moment, it'd give a lot of PC games a run for their money. It won't last though.
The PS3 devs have had a long time with those SDK's. It's disappointing that they only got as far as they did with the launch offerings. They remind me a lot of how developers ported some original Xbox games to the 360 with little effort on improvement *cough* Tony Hawk *cough*.
I still don't see how the PS3 is more powerful. Sure...the cell has several less-than-a-full-fledge-core SPEs, but taking advantage of them still takes overhead, and the single core's efficiency will suffer. "Snow White" (SPU) will be tattered and torn at the end of the day by those nagging "7 dwarves" (SPEs).
Back to the porting thing; I think that's the difference that PS3 fans are missing. The 360 got Xbox ports and rushed originals while the PS3 got Xbox 360 ports and less-rushed originals. Of course they'll look to be on the same level. Being boisterous about how the 360 is exceeding the PS3 isn't necessarily unwarranted.

Wait...the original Xbox came out later than the PS2 and it showed in the graphics even of PS2 ports. All ports looked sharper, had less jaggies, better lighting effects and just a general better look.
So how is it not fair to expect that the PS3 which has had a a year extra in development for games, for the Titles to actually look noticeably better. But instead they don't even match the 360. That is quite shocking. Sony promised and Sony has not delivered...yet again.

It is quite humorous to watch all the Sony Defense Force go from; "Xbox 1.5", "Next Gen doesnt start till PS3 arrives", "1080P", "Full HD" etc...
to
"In a year the PS3 graphics may match the xbox360" or "its not fair to judge todays 360 games vs todays PS3 games".
It's a similar thing with Blu-Ray, I keep hearing how it "could" be better than HD DVD "at some point in the future", but seriously Sony have had time to work out the kinks, no-one else is given the leaway that Sony receive - Seriously it was put-up or shut-up for both blu-ray and the PS3, they both came out losers.
