But you've also come to realize that purchasing an Xbox 360 isn't as simple as picking up a box and calling it a day. There are numerous versions of the 360 (Core, Arcade, Pro, H3, Elite, etc.) and keeping up to date on what's included in each box can make your brain turn to mush. And that's where our friends over at Joystiq come in with their guide to explaining the Xbox 360 SKUs. In their article they lay out all the details, break down each model, give you the prices and tell you what's in the box all on one handy little chart. Their article will not only help you decide on which Xbox 360 console is right for you, but it will also make you informed enough to be able to correct those somewhat delusional sales people who get their 360 facts messed up sometimes.

Almost as confusing as the fact that the Tomb Raider:Anniversary downloadable episodes are currently available on marketplace for 1200 points each 2 chapters. Funny how this one slipped the media.

If you haven't bought an xbox yet... you have a wonderful opportunity to get it right the first time. Speaking as someone who has purchased the core, arcade, premium, and the elite. Just get the elite, you'll save in the long run! Everything else is a waste of time! (Unless you are buying one to temporarily replace a broken console, then planning to return it... not that I've ever done that.)

Heh... no mention that they all come with an impending RROD? ;)
I don't know if mine is about to occur or not. I've been getting a lot of disc read errors lately with no dirty or scratched discs.

After waiting for a price drop, then waiting for HDMI to appear in CANADA on the premium systems, i finally got myself a 360 today. I'm leaving my office to go home and play within the hour. I'm pumped.

Am I the only guy that feels ripped here?? I bought my 360 not even a year ago, lost 3 of them to the ring of death and whatever all with in the first 2 months. So I finally managed to get one that seems to be working well and now all the new ones have smaller chips and HDMI. I was so choked 360 didnt have HDMI when I first got it. So now what,I have to spend another 400 for HDMI? Thats such bull, why cant they just exchange the thing for an upgrade, even for a fee I would be willing, but to buy a whole new system just for the HDMI?
Bullshit
