You heard it, folks. A Tony Hawk's Project 8 demo will be available on Marketplace tomorrow, October 20th. The demo will give you access to many of the games new features, including the much lauded "Nail the Trick" -- think The Matrix meets skateboarding. Also accessible will be the "Filmer" mode, in which you follow a cameraman and complete whatever tricks he wants to see. As if that weren't enough, there will also be what Activision calls "Spot Challenges," which are random goals that can be completed in the game world. All in all, it sounds like a pretty meaty demo. It's also the only place you'll be playing Project 8 for quite a while. We've said it before and we'll say it again, you gotta love Xbox Live.

Santa Monica, CA – October 19, 2006 – The competition to become a member of Tony Hawk's elite skate team starts on your Xbox 360™ with the free Tony Hawk's Project 8 demo available on Xbox Live® Marketplace Oct. 20.
Gamers can download the demo and hit the Concrete Park where they will experience some of the latest innovations in the #1 best selling action sports franchise from Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), including "Nail the Trick," which gives players precision control over how their skater moves their feet to flip the skateboard; "Filmer" goals that require players to follow a cameraman and complete tricks that he calls out; and "Spot Challenges" which are ambient goals that players can access throughout the game world and complete as they choose.
Tony Hawk's Project 8 is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment systems from Microsoft. The game is rated "T" by the ESRB and is scheduled for release in November.

yeah...getting worried, it's 11:45 est and still no demo....they did take a game off of the new release demos section...but it hasn't come up yet....they better not hold back and decide not too, that would be a really bad move on there part.

i was so happy when i found out, so i stayed up all night and the demo was there when i crashed (3am). so i tried again when i woke up for school (6am) and once before i left (7.30am). and i was a giddy little school girl all day today, waiting to get outa school to Download it. so before i had to go to work i stoped home to check on it (12.30pm). now i am at work... hoping that when i get home (8pm)... that there WILL be a demo for me to play! So if there was a delay (obveiously there has been) why hasnt XBOX, neversoft or even x360 fb said anything. No news is NOT good news people.
