It's that time. Time to announce the winner of our Lumines Live! contest. We received a digital ton of entries, some good, and some not so good. Some of them were clever, and some not so clever. Find out who we picked and see some honorable mentions after the break.
After sifting through lots of great entries, we had to pick this Gears of War inspired avatar from 360 Fanboy reader, Chris. There were plenty of GOW entries, but we felt that this one best captured both Gears and Lumines. So, congratulations, Chris! You're Lumines redemption code is on the way!Did you like this contest? Would you like to see more? Then let your voices be heard in the comments. Convince those bigwigs that 360 Fanboy deserves more swag to give away. And don't forget to check out some of our (mostly) honorable mentions below.
This entry was a close second. We think it's very cute.
Flattery will only get you so far. Might make a good T-shirt, though...
Surprisingly, there were only two Halo entries. This one even has a mocked up screen shot, which you can see here.
Simple. Elegant. Like the controller that inspired it.
Could this be our new 360 Fanboy mascot? He needs a name.
Not sure what to say about this one, but we like it.
"I'm just a Bill..."
Ryu has had a rough couple of years. He's not looking so good.
"You mean I didn't win the contest? Oh, noooooooo!"

Mine was the (simple, elegant) controller one.
I'd love to see more competitions like this. Especailly now I see how high the standard of competition is. Loved the winning entry - why didn't I think of that?!?

"You don't have to have L337 photoshop skillz to win."
Ouch. That earlier statement is incorrect. You needed to use your pirated version of Photoshop to even be a runner-up in this case, with the exception of one or two.

I see more than two colors in that winner. I'm suing this website. I will bring you ALL to the ground.

Or you know, a legal version of Illustrator CS2 in my case.
There's always Gimp. That's free. There's really no reason for anyone to have to rely on pirated software or MS Paint in most cases.

Uhhhh your winner used 3 colors in direct violation of your rules. WTF

Yeah, mine only had two colors too... I admit it was a lazy invert job of the original logo, but it turned out neat.

Though, I can't say I'm not embittered by the bending of the rules to win...
Not to take away from the winner, his icon was definitely the best!
And I'm voting for the controller mascot as the official X360F mascot!

If it makes anyone feel any better. We *do* have a 2-color version of the winning avatar. Either way, it would've won.
