can't wait for this. i currently have xbmc "pimped edition" which is really cool... i haven't updated my xbmc in a while... but it'll be really nice to have 360's nice dashboard with xbmc's capabilities.

damn... I wish my 360 was like that. I wish I could just goto videos and load up a bunch of divx files I have saved on a 400GB hard drive. Or goto arcade and choose a system emulator and play the games. I want to buy an original xbox now just for this. Ive played my friends modded xbox before and it was great how I could just FTP anything I wanted to and from the system.
I hate how official products are always so crippled. I bet after 5 more years and 10 major dash updates, the 360 still wont have close to the functionality of the xbox media center. Hopefully they will find a way to make a 360 media center one day, and once again put microsoft in their place.

wow, so you can set any picture you want as your dash background?! like omg, really?! and I can watch Quicktime movie trailers and check the weather all from the confined comforts of my couch?! I never have to walk two feet to my PC or to my window to see outside again! Oh em gee, I am SUCH a loser and I need to get a tan, gasp... why am I still playing with little baby toys like an original Xbox in the first place? *Proceeds to punch self in testicles*
Oh my god, I just had a day-mare (like nightmare)in which I was playing with a modded xbox and I realized how much of a disgrace to manhood I was and how horribly addicted I am to wasting my life in front of TV screen. Geez, I'd better counter these feelings with some real world action. I know, I'll go take a drive to my local EB Games, I need to get the strategy guide for Table Tennis...
What's so crippled about the 360 dash that there needs to be third party software available? The only thing that would be nice is to play video files saved on your PC or an external hard drive. "Once again put MS in their place?" So by copying MS, they put them in their place? That's just silly. Sounds more like a pat on the back for making something so original and useful to me.
Thank god for all of your entertaining comments, otherwise I would have nothing to keep myself sane.

But serioysly, that's freaking awesome. The fact that they got just about everything dead on with the 360 is great, and the ability to grab your gamerscore, etc. from Live is simply amazing.
Makes me want to mod one of my two Xboxes now.
