Xbox ahoy! Beached Xbox washes ashore

While walking along the beach in Northern California, Beatrice Murch stumbled upon an interesting discovery: an Xbox™. Popular theories for how it got there include being washed out from a flood, or falling off a ship en route. You guys have any ideas?

There are more pictures of the wreckage, if you have the stomach for that sort of thing.

2. you'd think that the people at Xbox360 Fanboy would recognise that that's an original Xbox, and not a 360, or perhaps hope that the ppl at [email protected] would at least notice. Surely the size of it, plus the hard drive give it away?

3. Ah. It is revealed that a site for "fanboys" is not indeed run by "fanboys".

9. WTF? How is it that the editiors of "xbox360fanboy" are unable to distinguish a 360 from an original xbox? I mean come on.

12. OK I know how it got there. Someone was playing a game and got pissed that they couldn't beat it. So they ripped the xbox from the TV. Then they smashed it on the ground and then threw it over the cliff landing in the water during high tide. It then got dragged out to sea. The house this occured at is in Orange County on some ocean front property. The guy went out and bought another one the next day.

13. The mafia has discovered that cement shoes are so 1935. Instead they have started tying old xbox's to peoples feet before throwing them into the ocean. Either that, or someone got pissed off at Ninja Gaiden and tossed that SOB into the water.

15. Good one pennywise969!

I've felt the urge to toss Ninja Gaiden into the ocean! Good thing there's no ocean nearby. I need to get NG:Black so I can play as "Ninja dog."

16. NO NO NO... You guys got it all wrong. The Xbox that washed up on shore was actually the first proto-type that was stolen from Microsoft by Sony. You see, they have a secret lab somewhere in the Pacific, and they were trying to figure out how it works(Japanese are always trying to copy the American design to make it better and credit themselves to call it their own). Unfortunately, during the long voyage back, the scientists were tinkering with it and accidentally fell overboard. There, it floated with the current...until it finally made it back home to the good Ole U.S.of A. If I were you, I would bring it back to MS. That reward is probably still good. Last I heard, it was a 1 million-billion-quadrillion dollars. :) HAVE A NICE DAY.

17. Joe, Have you ever tried to pick up a Xbox? There is no way it would float with the current.

18. pennywise969, Would you believe that dolphins carried it to shore?

Posted at 1:36PM on Jan 24th 2006 by Joe 0 stars

19. I'll accept pirates, but not dolphins. =)

Posted at 3:14PM on Jan 24th 2006 by C. Grant 0 stars

20. I seriously doubt that a dolphin has the upper body strength required to lift an Xbox. I think the pirate idea is more believable. If a pirate found a xbox, he would rape and plunder it and then throw it overboard. By the look of the picture, I bet that is exactly what happened.
