In the red corner, weighing in at 214 pounds is former Microsoft executive now turned EA Sports head honcho. With a legendary right hook thanks to the Spartan power he receives through his Halo 2 tattoo, witness the FaceBreaker boxing all-star Peter "Big Guns" Moore!

In the blue corner, weighing in at 142 pounds is reality show "star" and beautiful face who has dabbled in celebrity fashion, acting and the apparel business. Sporting a pair of short shorts, a ponytail of abuse and a sour attitude, welcome to the FaceBreaker boxing ring Kim "Big Bottoms" Kardashian!

Let's get it on, FIGHT!

EA Sports looking into possible subscription program future

During yesterday's EA conference call, EA Sports boss Peter Moore briefly mentioned concepts the studio is considering for the future of their various titles. Moore stated they were looking at instituting "subscription programs" to the EA Sports library in order to "take advantage" of customer loyalty. Of course this could translate to a number of ideas so before we get bent out of shape we should consider it doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Consider a subscription based model that would drop by-the-minute roster updates for your favorite sports games over multiple seasons rather than having to plunk down another full retail chunk of change. While we can't guess what might, if anything at all does, come of this idea we can at least credit EA for being one of the publishers that keeps trying to innovate. Whether some like it or not.

Moore promises new ink if EA Sports underperforms

Peter Moore, posting on his official EA Sports blog of awesomeness (yes, he too has one), we get an inside peek into what's going over in the mysterious lands of EA'ville learning that it's annual review time once again. A time where each and every high paid employee is evaluated, compared and rated accordingly to their performance goals. Yup, EA runs a tight ship. And Mr. Peter Moore himself is not immune to such reviews and promises to take "ink action" if he fails to reach his goals. Moore explains that "we're hitting this season in terms of quality and innovation stronger than we ever have at EA SPORTS", promising that "if I'm wrong, you'll see me sporting a new tattoo - maybe a competitor's logo?" Nice move Moore. Putting your forehead where your mouth is, that's our kinda guy.

Peter Moore talks about heart breaking decision

When news hit the internets last July that Peter Moore was leaving team Microsoft our heart was in shambles. The news tor our emotional psyche apart without care or remorse. We've since recovered (it took some time though) and are now hearing that Peter Moore too had a difficult time accepting his decision and he too was in emotional shambles.

Chatting with GamesIndustry.biz, Moore revealed that he "thoroughly enjoyed working" on the Xbox team and even admitted that, when in the final decisive hour, "it broke my heart leaving Microsoft." Awww, so cute. Moore went on to explain that he had "a real yearning for getting back to what we as Brits living in America call home, which is the San Francisco Bay area" and that need ultimately proved the reason why he took the job over at EA Sports. "You get to the point in your life where you say, do I live where I work, or do I work where I live? For me, I would rather live in the Bay area - nothing against Seattle - and there's only really one job I would have taken to leave Xbox and that's president of EA Sports."

Much love Peter Moore, we miss you.

Introducing Peter Moore: the blogger

After years of abuse from the blogosphere (including plenty from around these parts), Peter Moore has decided to join the enemy and become a blogger ... in a manner of speaking anyway. First of all, Peter won't be joining the ranks of video game journalism, but will instead be posting for the benefit of the EA Sports community. Second, it's not a dedicated blog per se, but more of a glorified forum post. Still, Peter Moore will be taking regular chunks of his schedule and dedicating them to communicating with the masses. Entitled Inside the Game, the blog serves as a soap box for Moore to share whatever his heart desires. In the first installment of the blog, his heart desires to go back in time and get the Patriots to win the Super Bowl. He also takes some time to mention FaceBreaker and take a few good-natured potshots at Major Nelson.

The blog mostly serves as an introduction to the concept, so don't go looking for any bombshells. Still, it's an interesting read, and hopefully Inside the Game will become a regular source for newsworthy information from EA.

Video proof: Major Nelson is not Paris Hilton

If you've been paying attention to Inside Xbox, you may recall former Microsoft bigwig Peter Moore (now cozy with EA) calling out one Major Nelson during an interview with Microsoft's TriXie. Specifically, Moore (jokingly) described Major as "self-absorbed," adding, "now he's pretty much, you know, the Paris Hilton of video games. That, you know, he is, you know, above us all." Major Nelson is apparently not one to take things lying down, and he quickly prepared a response video for this week's edition of Major's Minute. We won't spoil it, but rest assured that Major Nelson consulted the highest authority on this matter.
