Man...I feel you. I'm 34 but and I've been gaming since Atari 2600. My family was (is) broke and I could never afford the latest game gear. I bought my 360 in Jan 2007 (The earliest I've ever bought a 'new' system) and I'm loving it. Like many others...Ironically I can afford to buy more stuff and keep current....but no longer have the time (kids, work, relationship...sigh). I keep it balanced though...play a little here and there...but live vicariously through the rest of you gamers by staying current via this site. Fun to read and get my latest fix. Having kids is starting to pay off though....my son is 8 now and I can ACTUALLY play a game with him now and again without having to explain anything. Soon he'll be explaining it to me I'm sure. Can't wait til he's a teen and we can play the really fun games....that is if he won't mind playing GOW 5 with his ol' man.

still no power after hurricane Ike last weekend! but thankfully we have a generator so i can squeeze in some gaming each day. priorities right? i have to check email (and post comments) from work. fingers crossed for power this weekend though! but i cant complain, we are a lot better off than some people closer to the coast.
i'm trying to go through mass effect for a second time. and maybe working through star wars: fu again on a harder difficulty. beat it on apprentice last night. a very fun game and a much more interesting story than the three prequels.

Nope, I got nothing! I beat everything I get, then I try to beat it again.
I am STILL waiting to get StarWars: Force Unleashed from Gamefly (why it takes one day for some games to get to my house and 2 weeks for others I will never understand.)

Gamefly is just like Netflix, if they start loosing money they will slow down shipping and receiving on your titles until they are back in the black or even.

Rock Band 2 and Halo 3 mostly for me and my brother this weekend. However, we do have to finish the co-op campaign for Unreal Tournament III before we trade it in (gotta pay for this onslaught of holiday games somehow).

I've been playing Rock Band 2... then some more Rock Band 2... then after that some Gears (in preparation for Gears2), and following that up with even more Rock Band 2.
Seriously, Rock Band 2 ,in tweaking an already great forumula, may have just become the best rhythm game ever. World Tour Online is keeping my friends and I busy for hours!

GTA IV
Marvel: UA
Devil May Cry 4
Some Wii games.
It's a shame I beat The Force Unleashed already. That one would've been better if it were longer.

Still need to finish bioshock and mass effect. But just got RB2 so I am working on that. I did just finish GTA 4 and sold it for a preorder for RB2. I got $30+ dollars for GTA4 from Gamestop. That is $12 more than what it is going for on Ebay.
Probably going to play the hell out of castle crashers too. Maybe pickup feeding frenzy 2.

So far, 2008 has really been a lackluster year. Most of the games I was really anticipating playing this year, turned out to decidedly not being worth the $60 asking price: Frontlines, Dark Sector, Army of Two, Soul Calibur, Alone in the Dark . . . and the list of could have been AAA titles for 2008, goes on and on.
Unfortunately, needless to say, left me actually purchasing very few games this year . . . not just for the 360, but across all platforms. I picked up No More Heroes and Okami for the Wii. Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3. And Grand Theft Auto IV and Civilization Revolution for the 360, and outside of a few LIVE Arcade games (Braid, Bionic Commando ReArmed and Castle Crashers), is pretty much it for the entire year.
The upside with so few purchases all year, is that it leaves plenty of time to beat them all quite thoroughly. The downside is, that you find yourself months at a time without any worthy games to play. So I've been anticipating the holiday season greatly this year. So much AAA goodness on the horizon, that it is scary. My fun starts next week with the release of Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway which I'm getting on 360 and WipEoutHD for the PS3.
After that, things get pretty hot especially going into October, when everything but the kitchen sink is scheduled for release. But as far as what I have not yet finished so far in 2008, right now my plate is completely empty . . . and I'm getting out the flatware in prep for the feast that is starting only days away.

Let's see, I gotta finish GTAIV, RSV2. Plus this summer, I've picked up used copies of Blazing Angels, GRAW 2, Lego Star Wars complete saga, Splinter Cell Double Agent, NFS:Most wanted Burnout Paradise. Why do I buy all these games? Cause they're cheap and I don't have time to play them. I usually play Halo 3 multiplayer when I have some time cause I have the most fun with it........Oh and I have not spent near enough time with the Orange Box........

Huh? What do you mean, "before the holiday games start dropping?" Viva PiƱata TiP and Rock Band 2 are already out and fighting for my time, the Burnout Paradise update hit just yesterday, and we're less than a week away from a Halo 3 update that's bringing new achievements that (if rumors are to be believed) will be calling us back to the campaign.
I think it's a little late to be dusting off the backlog now. %(
