Trying something new and a day early, Harmonix decided to reveal next week's
Rock Band downloadable content through their first emailed issue of the
Rock Band Community-zine. And within its digital pages comes confirmation of new Rush downloadable content. Yup, RUSH! But don't go and expect to get a Rush three song track pack, because that just isn't the case. Instead, we'll be treated to all seven tracks from their
Moving Pictures album which will hit the
XBLM next Tuesday, August 26th. Including the original recordings from "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight"! Down with covers, up with original masters and bring on the album DLC!
- "Tom Sawyer" by Rush
- "Red Barchett" by Rush
- "YYZ" by Rush
- "Limelight" by Rush
- "The Camera Eye" by Rush
- "Witch Hunt" by Rush
- "Vital Signs" by Rush
[Thanks, King B]

Another $11 of my hard earned money going to Harmonix... I am majorly stoked for this!!!
One thing though, YYZ is instrumental, so I guess the vocalist either gets to take that song off, or play a bunch of tambourine...

So what does the vocalist do in YYZ? I don't think that song has any lyrics. Is this the first completely instrumental rock band song? strikes me as kind of odd.

Makes me feel stupid for buying the initial release of limelight. Rush is so much better than whoever did the cover.

Def. getting YYZ, I miss instrumentals from Guitar Hero. Guess the vocalist will just have to take a break.

All these songs look fun but I think we should get Tom Sawyer free or at a cheaper price. We DO already have the song in the game, even though its a cover, kinda shady making us pay for the same song. :(

If you are shallow enough to give up RB because they offer Devo then sir, I am ashamed of you.

One of the secret features that we introduced in the Music Store patch was the ability to play "instrumental" songs. This means that the song itself doesn't have a vocal part, but does have all the other parts.
What does that mean for you? Well, it means you can't play YYZ as a vocalist because there's no vocal part. There's no leaderboards for Solo Vocal YYZ, no difficulty slot for it for vocals (in RB2, the notches disappear and it says "No Part"), and if you try and play YYZ as a vocalist it'll remind you that this is an instrumental track.
Hope that clears things up!
