Yesterday EA announced on their forums that they have dropped an update for NHL 08 that included an updated roster package and an online boost, upping the player count from 6 players (3v3) to 12 (6v6). While the online mode upgrade is much appreciated, to what is probably the best simulation sports game of 2007, it would help if the mode worked properly.
The original Team Play mode (3v3) was plagued with connection issues and according to the official NHL 08 forums the March 18 update has brought those problems back with a vengeance. While we wait for the issues to be corrected, a list of roster changes can be found after the jump.

unless it adds co op online play it really doesnt matter because i dont understand ea's anti co op campaign but please someone come out with a game that plays this good that i can play online with some of my friends too

It's nice to see that my two Edmonton rookies (Cogliano and Gagner) got well deserved upgrades. Did the update include only stats changes for the players, or also team changes for trades?

umm, 6 on 6 is pretty much the ultimate in sports co-op play (for hockey). no A.I., everyone is human controlled.
anyways, yeah this update didnt go so well. they throttled it back to 4 on 4 max. hopefully this is more or less a beta test for 6 on 6 in NHL 09 ;)

how the hell is marleau still 89 when he sucks this year and only has 39 points, when marc savard has 77 points, and is still only a 86. and how is ovechkin only a 93. sakic in this game is a 93... like seriously cmon. and neidermayer a 96 when hes missed half the season and isnt as good as he was last year. ea doesnt know shit about how good players actually are. i just didnt htink they were this stupid.

EA has constantly screwed up this game and made the online expeirence, at least for me, completely un-playable. The faceoff bug glitch has still not been fixed, and I can't even finish 75% of my games.

i've only gotten one game to finish all night, every game has had the faceoff bug at the first face off and connecting to other players is being a pain in the ass bigtime, keeps saying i'm disconnected from servers. plus i'm a wings fan and for whatever reason McCarty is dressed but Stuart isnt, wtf

On NHL 06, to win a face-off all you had to do was repeatidly tap the a button.
There is nothing in the rule book?
