While strolling through the aisles at their local Best Buy the folks at Bits Bytes Pixels Sprites stumbled upon the first signs of Rock Band instruments, not including the microphone, being sold separately. Pricing in at $79.99, the drums are the first stand alone instruments we've seen at retail and confirm reports that all the instruments would make it out around the end of February.
[Thanks, Dan]

I picked my separate drums up on Tuesday and the packaging is really nice inside, so I'm going to use the box to carry it when I take my band on the road.
Yes mountaineer, they do work, except either I'm hitting them a little late or early, or I'm just really bad when I have to kick the bass pedal.

Its kinda wierd, spend $160 on the entire bundle or $80 on the drums and $60 on the game.. Why wouldnt people just spend the extra $20 to get a guitar and mic

You can get the game off ebay for under $30 with little effort.

I did that myself. Got the game NEW AND SEALED on eBay for ~$30 and just picked up the drum kit from GameStop. Already have 2 GH guitars and the Xbox Live headsets work for the mic. Much better deal than paying almost $200 for a mic I don't care about and one wired guitar.

Just saw a ton at my GS, no game in it though, for $80 and a game I would have picked it up.
