Update: Oops, we sort of mis-read the prize payouts. Each day you play you get an entry into the giveaway, but no daily prizes will be awarded. Instead, there will only be one drawing that will award 1,251 winners. Our odds and excitement just decreased.
In an effort to give back to the
Halo 3 community and
recruit soldiers promote Army awareness, the US Army and Microsoft have partnered to give out all kinds of goods in their latest
Halo 3 Sniper School Play & Win giveaway (which looks to be open to US residents only). Starting right now, you can make your way to Xbox.com and
register your gamertag to prepare for the week long Sniper School fun which kicks off on January 19th and runs through 25th. Every day you play
Halo 3 matchmaking, you'll be entered into the drawing where they'll be giving away one limited edition
Halo 3 Giclee Print print as well as 1,250 800 Microsoft point redemption codes totaling
over 8,750 exactly 1,251 individual winners. But remember, you have to register first and play
Halo 3 daily from the 19th through the 25th to win.
While you're waiting for the Play & Win party to begin, may be entice you with a free Sniper School
theme and
gamer picture set download? Yeah, we thought so.

Oh bummer, I thought this was going to be a Halo 3 sniper school, not an even sponsored by the U.S. Army Sniper School.
I could really use some Halo 3 Sniper instruction, gawd I suck with that thing.

I might send in a few envelopes, but the odds on this one will be a lot longer than the other sweeps due to Halo 3 popularity. All I can hope for is 98% of the players don't register...

Lol, Xenocidic - they're not even being THAT covert about it anymore it's just a weary old Uncle Sam, "Er.... Join the Army please... it's a lot like Halo... I guess?"
Bloody competition is only open to U.S Residents as usual! You'd think if the U.S wanted snipers it'd recruit the British!

Ummm...1 grand prize winner plus 1250 800 MS point winners equals over 8750 winners?
Must be that new math I've been hearing about.

That theme would make more sense if they were promoting Call of Duty 4.

Agreed. Halo's not exactly a war simulation is it??
(Not that I've fought in any wars mind you.)
COD4 would be the obvious choice. Maybe they're all Halo fanboys in the military top brass!
Sniper School? Every time I read that it reminds of that mental peado twat and young boy going on a sniping spree in America. Was it the Beltway Sniper?

I actually got an email the other day saying I won 8000 MS points from a play and win back with H3 launched. Pretty sweet, especially when I had completely forgotten about it.
