Today, KOEI made the announcement that Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War has officially gone gold and will be on retail shelves November 6th. And just in case you've forgotten, there is a Bladestorm demo currently residing on the XBLM (available to all Xbox Live regions) if you're feeling the need to give the game a test drive before November comes. That's about all we've got for you as far as Bladestorm news goes, so now we think we're going to head off and try to perfect the ancient Chinese art of hacking and slashing. Stab, swing, duck, stab, stab, swing, duck. Repeat.
Some 100 years later, Bladestorm goes gold

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed the demo, I usually don't like the Dynasty warrior games.

Guys.
Seriously.
Shut up. Its not a Warriors game. Get over it. It's Koei, so I know the biased that its the same hack and slash, but it isn't. Give it a fair chance X3F, every time you've mentioned it you've added that its 'just another chinese hack and slash', when its neither.
Its based in France, so half your argument is gone there.
Its not a hack and slash, its a tactical squad RPG. There's your other argument gone.
Give it a fucking chance before you bash it to hell. Jesus.

I played the demo, and really like the concept... but what was the logic behind an inverted x axis? Anyone who picks up the game is going to think to swing the left stick to the left to go left. Instead they've got it set up to swing the left analog stick to the right to rotate the camera so you can go left.

@3- Totally agreed. It's not a DW game, not by a long shot. People should know a little bit about what they're writing about before they publish- don'tcha think?!
Read OXM's "review". Even for review they dismiss it as a DW clone, which Bladestorm very much IS NOT!
I'm no Koei fanboy and have never played a Dynasty Warriors game for more than five minutes (they're boringly redundant- sorry!). But I was very surprised with Bladestorm. Flawed, but definitely fun. If anything it's more like Kingdom Under Fire, but even that doesn't really capture the game properly...
@4- Japanese games, for whatever reason, usually default their controls that way. Let's hope they at least give you the option to invert it in the retail game.
@5- I wouldn't "guy" it either. But I'll probably pick it up once it's under $30-$40.
Here's hoping that publishers figure out they'll sell more games once they price the non-AAA releases accordingly. Project Sylpheed was a great deal at $40. I was hoping that everyone would figure out that niche games deserve niche price points... guess I can just dream on, huh?
Timely reference there btw... "NOT!"

i was kind of surprised by how much I liked Bladestorm. I didn't like the DW series, or the Kessen series. But strangely enough, a mix of the two was actually pretty good!

Preordered this back in May for $26 during a PayPal $10 off promo at CD Universe. They had it mispriced for awhile but appear to be selling it at full price now.
