Eurogamer has gotten their grubby little hands on a copy of Team Fortress 2 and laid down the first review of the game. We'll leave the pleasure of reading the whole review to our readers, but we're pretty sure you'd like an overall summary. Well here it is folks: it's good. According to Eurogamer, Team Fortress 2 achieves the unenviable task of providing an accessible team-based shooter experience that will satisfy both newcomers and the hardcore alike. Eurogamer even notes that the need for voice communication is nearly rendered moot by intuitive map designs and classes that counterbalance each other. That's quite an accomplishment if true. Oh, one last thing before you head off to read the review, Valve will be releasing more maps in addition to the six that are shipping with the game. Sounds pretty good to us. Now, go read the review and dream of October.

I am so looking forward to this. I can't count the number of hours I spent playing TFC.
Plus, I haven't played Half-Life 2 at all, so it's like a whole new game for me.

You can play the Team Fortress 2 PC beta now, by the way, if you preorder the PC version now.

I dunno the whole game looks way to cutesy and kidlike for me to take it seriously. I'm gonna pass on this.

And knowing MS and how the MarketPlace works I'm sure those additional maps will cost $10-15. So consider the price of the game plus $10-20 for new maps...

It's also re-iterated in the Eurogamer review.

Uh huh. Yeah, too "cutesy". Obviously, you've never heard of Team Fortress, nor seen any of the TF2 videos (laughs derisively). The only "kidlike" thing around here is YOU.

Crashman, I think it is October 10 for the states, October 18 for Australia, and November 16 for Europe.

Ok, what's most amazing is that this comes together with Half-Life 2, Episode 1 & 2 as well as Portal for only $60! I'm so pumped!
What a deal!! :)

I played TF2 all day today (Valve pre-released it to LAN Centers). It is a blast, makes an awesome LAN game. It got pretty loud in there tonight, everybody yelling and laughing. Most fun I've had in a LAN match in a long long time. All I can say is the Spy rocks!

This multiplayer (Played the PC beta all yesterday) was far more fun than halo 3's (was in the beta for that too).
Its a shame that halo gets all the advertising money etc, as this is clearly the superior game, and not everyone will have the chance to play it because they wont even know it exists.
Truely a shame.

Don't get the big deal with this game. Maybe it's just cause i missed the first.
But it's multiplayer only right? And ships with ONLY six maps? Shadowrun all over again?
Yeah there going to be bringing out new maps but the major question is - Are they going to CHARGE for them?
Isn't worth the money in my book, I'll hold off and wait to see if these new maps they release are going to come at a cost.
