Try as they might, it just doesn't look like Microsoft can keep a tight lid on Halo 3. Internal beta testers leaking videos, unauthorized people playing the epsilon, and now, actual copies of the game being sold on eBay. According to a listing on the auction site, a seller by the name of aaron9198 sold the game to b1onict0wel for the low, low price of AU $149 (US $123). The images of the game seem fairly genuine and we can only conclude that the seller didn't quite realize what he had on his hands. It's clear that he knew he was offering players the chance to play the game early, but it's not so clear that he understood just how much they'd be willing to pay for the opportunity. Considering people are already paying more for the Legendary Edition, aaron9198 probably could have set the "Buy It Now" price just a little bit higher. As the first bidder, we're betting b1onict0wel has a good understanding of the game's worth, and it wouldn't surprise us if flips his prize right back on eBay.
Whatever b1onict0wel does with it, it's time for us to be jealous. Join us, won't you?

Is it just me (and I'm aware that I'm in a minority here) but is anyone else not really all that psyched about Halo 3? I could take or leave the first two- there are better games out there- and there's no indication that 3 is going to offer a vastly different experience..
Not to be a killjoy or anything :)

LOL...he could have set the buy it now price at $1000 and someone would have bought it. C'mon getting to play the most anticipated game of the year 2 weeks (count it, 14 days) early. If I had that kind of money laying around, I would SO have done it.

It's a sequel, not a new series. Of course it's going to be similar. Why would they completely change a game that was already great? What sets it apart from the rest in the series is better graphics and sound, saved films, four player online co-op, forge, custom armors, etc.
Those who don't like Halo didn't play Halo: CE when it first came out, so they don't understand what the big deal is.

Im totally with you Rob, as far as Hype goes I was way more excited for Bioshock and am more excited for The orange Box and Mass Effect. I will buy Halo 3 and pray that it surpasses my expectations but I just can't see it happening. So no youre not alone on this, but we definately are in the minority.

Oh and to Zack, Rob never said he didnt like Halo, just that he wasnt that excited about its imminent release. I had both Halo titles on the day of release for the x-box and they really did set the standard back then. I just don't think Halo 3 is gonna be setting the standard this time, also its a great title among many others. H3 will sell a lot of 360's as the previous titles did for the original XBOX, but these new owners will go on to discover that there are a lot of essential titles to be purchased.

It seems that B1onict0wel (United States) joined eBay on 11th September and has 0 feedback. Possibly someone from Bungie that signed up to eBay to 'buy it back'?
Just a thought.

Umm, your points are not factual. You're such a killjoy!
I would offer to eplain to you on why the experience will be "vastly different", but if you're on X3F enough you would know.
Anyways on topic, yea that dude could've easily sold it for 200+

Did anyone here about the dumb-ass who actually stole a copy from the manufacturing plant where they print the game?
He goes home and then he tries to play it ONLINE !
He was insta-band from xboxlive and apparently the police came to his house and confiscated the game from his possession since his personal address and info were registered with his Windows Live account...
He was given a message on Live saying "you will not be able to access Xbox live until 12/9/9999" LMFAO !!!!
This guy is a freakin idiot...
No offense guys but this guy HAD to be American... lol cuz here in Canada we'd kill you if you were that stupid... Well I would

I think that when Bungie/M$ find out about the ebay listing and it's validity, they will send their ninjas out to destroy them.

@9 - "Umm, your points are not factual."
So you're saying that no game exists that is better than halo 1 or 2?
Sure, there are going to be changes and improvements- I'm not saying that this is just going to be "Halo 2 HD" or anything, but I didn't absolutely love the first two the way some people seem to, and therefore Halo 3 doesn't hold as much excitement for me- certainly not enough to justify all the hype.
Just my opinion though- I'm not saying that you're wrong to be excited about this game :)

Well, you can't please every one. Certainly there are obviously quite a lot of people who are every bit in line with the hype and thus it IS justified beyond those who don't care for the series. I'm not sure what else could be said about it.

I bought an original Xbox and had nothing but Halo and SSX: Tricky for a fair amount of time. Needless to say, I played a good bit of Halo. I agree with Rob; there's nothing exemplary about Halo: CE and certainly about Halo 2. I'm glad they've helped the Xbox take off, but so far they're repetitive, vanilla first-person shooters.

LOL!!!!
Who did he think he was going to play with online? The only people that would have had that ability would be people that would get pretty pissed if some guy just showed up in a match of a game he shouldnt have.
What a dumbass.
That story makes my day.
