The boys over at Xbox 360 Achievements came across a startling discovery, there is a second page on Xbox.com that has a set of Halo 3 Achievements that are all Secret Achievements. Now, if you take a look at the Gamerscore values, they are all consistent with the list of visible Achievements. Based on that, as well as the fact that there have been recent updates to images and meta game point requirements in the readable list, we feel this is either a glitch in the system more than Bungie trying to pull a fast one on Achievement Whores.

Another one of the tips I sent in, but I guess you guys found this before me.
I HIGHLY doubt that Halo 3 will ship with all secret achievements. Especially if you consider that comparing both lists, there is the same amount of achievements and they're of the same denominations as the non-secret ones. So basically, they're not secret then. lol
All this remains to be seen.
LOL...of course an article about achievements posted by the king of achievements: Knuckles. lol

what i hope is that they are secret at ship but when you put in the game some are revealed and only a few stay secret
i prefer not knowing what the achievements are until after i've bought the game

It could be that to help build hype for Halo 3 they had planned to keep them secret for a time as part of their PR rollout, but then the actual list was posted by mistake and made public before the error was noticed.
