If you couldn't bring yourself to purchase a copy of Official Xbox Magazine (or if you don't have wonderful Japanese friends), you can now finally download the Eternal Sonata demo from Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo gives players a chance to stretch their legs a bit and get used to the game's interesting, pseudo real time combat system. If you've made it this long without trying it out, you should really give it a go. Oh, there is also a Vampire Rain demo that is available everywhere except Germany, Korea, Taiwan, or the United States. We were beginning to get mighty angry about that, but then we remembered it was Vampire Rain.

I actually picked up September's OXM that has a demo for Beautiful Katamari packed in. Same old stuff, even graphically... although the crispness HD lends the environment and all the goofy rainbows and artwork does help.
I still think it's super fun though, despite you only getting 3 damn minutes to play it...

OOOOO! I just played through Eternal Sonata, f'n awesome, I was blown away. The graphics, battle system, music, everything. I had played the Blue Dragon demo a bit ago and didn't become nearly as excited as I am for this game. This is the JRPG i've been waiting for to come out on the box since I played Tales of Symphonia on Gamecube.
If you've got a subwoofer in the house, crank it up, it gave me chills to end the lives of those little bastards. Great game so far.

I played the Eternal Sonata demo off the OXM disc. It's an amazingly beautiful game with an interesting take on turn-based combat and I'm really looking forward to it's release.

just got finished playing Eternal Sonata....eh. I actually liked it for what it was, but it felt to much like a button smasher rpg. Run around, fight monsters, hit the a button until the end of your attack, then hit the Y button. I imagine thatd get very boring very quickly in the full game. Think I'll go with Lost Oddysey but it was fun while it lasted.

"We were beginning to get mighty angry about that, but then we remembered it was Vampire Rain" So did you actually play the game through? While I admit it will never be a top rated game, it actually isn't that bad of a single player storyline and worth a second look.

Just trying out the combat system and a little bit of the menu system, ES wasn't too bad. It was interesting enough for me to keep it in my pre-order queue at Amazon, especially with what I've read in previews for it. The beginning combat system is pretty basic, but I guess it gets more involved as the game progresses.

I played the ES demo a while ago with my Japanese GT. I liked it then and I like it now.
I have to agree with some others on here that Blue Dragon let me down. After playing that demo I lost all of the anticipation I had for it and was left thinking "I dont want to deal with all this screaming metal guitar and long as hell dragon animations."
I still like ES.

Fucking loved this demo! Highly anticipating the game... I think it's because I came more from the JRPG background than most 360 users... that's the thing about the 360, it's popularity and variety of games is larger than the xbox, so the 360 should be treated as more than just a console for shooters and sports games. There are plenty of fantastic games for 360 that I'm looking at on my shelf right now, and that's why I chose it over the PS3 and will continue to.
