Turning on a 360 Rube Goldberg style

Proud Xbox 360 owner ethjam0909 must have thought that turning on his white box was a little too easy or he just had had a lot of free time, because he felt compelled to construct a Rube Goldberg machine to power it up. Embedded above is a video showcasing his machine, which uses a marble, blanket, and some string to turn on his 360. Our favorite part has to be the end where ethjam0909 glows with pride by giving the camera the "oh yeah, I roxorz" smirk. Rock on ethjam0909, we'd so make one of those contraptions to power on our Xbox 360 at Fanboy Towers, but it's against house rules. And as everyone knows, we're good kids who abide by the rules.

3. i agree with rubbish, but if he is gonna do it he should have started it off with a cell phone on vibrate...so he calls the phone from the driveway and then it starts the 360 up so that when he gets in his room it ready to go...just power up the controller...still rubbish

6. DAMN DUDE LOOK AT THAT TV! THATS GOT TO BE THE CLEAREST BIGGEST PICTURE IVE EVER SEEN!

7. Kid should have spent his time instead making money to earn a TV shelf and a decent TV...

8. It looks like a fake to me. I think the ball doesn't turn on that 360. I don't see lights turn on and the TV is sitting next to a power plug, yet we have two cords stretched along the ground going towards the TV and one of them goes off to the right (out of frame) and comes back.

I think these guys set up some dominoes and pool sticks, but in the end just turned on the second 360 off camera.

9. Could that tv be any smaller?

10. Ultimate way to turn on an X-Box? Um, No.

I just press the Guide button on a wireless controller and the only way to beat that would be to have some hot chick with big cans turn on the 360 for me.

Posted at 2:46PM on Jul 2nd 2007 by Benjamin09

11. Or you could just press the damn controller button.

14. @ 8

you need to get laid or something, who would even want to actually notice things like that, or even assume a stupid little video is fake for that matter

15. Dustin Burg, While this is interesting...I come here to find out about 360 news and WORTHY 360 related items...video quality is crap.

Do me a favor and inform me on when someone can build a Rube Goldberg contraption that in the end will show me some game footage of Alan Wake or GTAIV.

Thanks for the HARD hitting journalism.

Sincerely,

Carnie - Loyal XB360F Reader

16. Yea, this is crap. Why don't you report about Forza 2 breaking masses of 360's and MS trying to sweep it under the carpet by deleting 900+ posts at the official forum?

17. 1) Shaky Cam Footage - Check!
2) Unnecessary loud music background - Check!
3) Horrible looking "credits" that take up almost 1/3 of the video time - Check!

We have another YouTube winner folks!

18. "I think these guys set up some dominoes and pool sticks, but in the end just turned on the second 360 off camera."

you think with a little ass TV like that they can afford 2 360s?
i think they just turned it on with a wireless remote like the rest of the world does, since from my experience the power button on the 360 requires a quite a bit of pressure, more than some small ball could provide.

i personally like the generic first name "these are my best friends and i'm 12" credits. ahhh the wonders youtube has allowed our youth to do these days.
