In celebration of their latest album release
Libertad, rockers
Velvet Revolver have been honored with the title of July's Artist of the Month. Head onto the XBLM to download the making of video of their music video "She Builds Quick Machines", but not actually the music video. Odd, we know. If Velvet Revolver doesn't excite you check out Ryan Adams' very "unique" music video for "I Taught Myself How to Grow Old". Both downloads are free, so download at your own musical risk.

Really, where are your stats to prove your assertion? Is this a fact?
You can keep your corny assed rock music, and rap does suck. I'll stick to Hip-Hop, give me music with thought and intelligence in it. (I'm not saying all rock sucks, just most shit now days)

Sorry Spit, can't stand most Hip-Hop. I'm not an adoring Velvet Revolver fan, but I'd take them over most Hip-Hop any day. Except I'm in Canada where Artist of the Month seems to have gone by the wayside...

Understandable. To each their own though.
I do feel for you guys not in the U.S. You always seem to get shafted, though I'm sure it's not all Microsoft's fauld. I will say regardless I would like some variety in their choices. I haven't downloaded a single music video in probably a year. It just annoys me that it is all rock crap.

I hate scott wineland. I like the old stp but this shit sucks ass. Scott sounds like ass live, he is a total "studio boy".
His image is gay as hell.. He looks like a cracked out 45 year old goth /too cool for school deal with his smoke and sunglasses/homosexual fashion sense fresh outa rehab. I just wanna hit him in the head and see if he either gets knocked out or cries like a bitch as a result of not getting enough attention from daddy at a young age.
Slash on the other hand, is a bad ass mother fucker and is in the wrong gig.

Spitkicker; that's a good idea. While I'm kind of a rock guy, I think it'd be a great idea to really mix up the artist of the month. Throw all kinds of genres and artists in there, expose people to some new stuff.
And I don't think Canada gets shafted nearly as much as Europe (the UK in particular)...

@ spitkicker rock has intelligent lyrics have you heard of pinkfloyd or led zeppelin? and what is the difference to rap and hip hop it sounds like the same crap to me. Are the gorillaz considered hip hop? i dont really think soo though because its mixed. I'm not trying to flame or anything but name a few groups of hiphop and rap soo i can see if i can differeciate. Also yeah some of the rock these days suck with those crap bands appearing on myspace and trying to make a quick buck.

LOL. Same with rappers on myspace. It's cool. I don't hate all rock. The ones you listed are classic. No doubt good music. It's the new shit now days that I hate. Gorillaz, personally I'd say more like Hip-Hop but not sure.
let me give it a shot.
Rap - 50 cent, nelly, lil (insert corny rap name here), just about any garbage on the radio and MTV/BET. Any materialistic crap.
Hip-Hop - Talib Kweli (My favorite of all time), Mos Def (another fav), The Roots, Common, Immortal Technique, Pharoahe Monch, Del, K-OS, KRS-ONE, I could probably keep going. There is a definite difference between the two. Obviously everybody has there own genre they like.
@ CJ
LOL. Dude I won't even bother arguing with you. You have no clue. Go listen to the radio or something.

Exactly. That pretty much sums it up. Expose people to something they haven't heard of. No matter the genre. (just leave country out of it LOL)
