Carcassonne may make an appearance next week as its Xbox.com page has received an update revealing the game's price being 800 Microsoft points. Xbox.com usually doesn't reveal detailed information about unreleased games (especially the price) which leads us to think the game is very close to making its entrance onto the XLBA. But it's not like we have a bunch of options here seeing that Sierra Online previously confirmed a June release date. And since June is coming to an end Carcassonne would have to be out either next week or the week after. We're putting our chips on next Wednesday ... place your bet.[Via Game Stooge]

I've never played the board game, is it suitable for local multiplayer? I loved Settlers of Catan for XBLA but it wasn't able to play local multiplayer since you have to hide your cards from other players. Same with Uno.

In reply to "natef", there isn't any reason it couldn't support local multi-player. Here's what xbox.com says: Challenge your friends: Multiplayer capability allows for up to five players on Xbox LIVE®, or four players on one Xbox 360™ console.

I sure hope this isnt the only game comming to the arcade next week. I'm getting alittle impatient waiting for certain games to drop that R suppossed to come out like Streets Of Rage 2, Fatal Fury special, Tron, Tempest, SSF2thdr, sonic 1 and 2....Just where the hell R these games on the release scale?

Just as point of reference the Xbox.com article has been online for two weeks now. It was launched before the June 6th Wed. XBLA releases. The Xbox.com forums crew has been waiting for two Wed. releases for this but nothing in sight.
Also, the ERSB has yet to rate the game which may mean nothing. But I won't hold my breath for a June 20th release.
We'll probably get more typical retro fare. Bleah.

Track & Field is scheduled for next week so far. Definitely not a game you'd want to launch alone (3 of 10 at OXM.)

I don't consider some of those "drab".
I think it just comes down to you can't please every one. If people are expecting some game they love every week, I don't know how they can't be disappointed with video games in general lol.

I'm well aware how the XBLA releases work, unfortunately. I've purchased over 40 of them and I've been waiting feverishly for Carcassonne + expansions. I'm also buying anything Catan related with the exception of themes and pics.
Bomberman Live, Worms, Catan, Carcassonne, Uno, plus another announced Euro board game and I still want more!

Usually, the way that works is that you create your guest(s)'s user name like a Live name, but does not accumulate high scores or earn Achievements.
