And yet, it is also a welcome change, as putting together episode 50 is a task we are not eager to repeat. So, this week you get your standard show, complete with commentary on the latest and greatest360 news. We've also got the triumphant return of Fantalk, in which we discuss the impact of downloadable games on the future of our beloved industry. Oh, and Yoda pops in to say hello as well. OH no... Yoda again? I'm not a huge fan of the Yoda voices or Elmo for that matter. I can only imagine what is in store.
Oh, and the show last week... just great. You really outdid yourselves. :)

Good fancast! I'm glad the Yoda was kept to a minimum, but I've got to say pervert, force juggling boob Yoda is much better than regular Yoda. I fully support it.
Dustin should get a few of his friends together on Halo and change the language to boost that last achievement!
Oh, and when Dustin started describing the game he would make I thought, "He's ripping off Schizoid!!!". However, that idea with changing the colors with the buttons, and the combo of buttons to create new colors is actually a pretty awesome idea. Seems original to me anyway, and I'm sure it's going to be promptly stolen. Richard's game... um... yeah... at least he HAD AND IDEA, unlike other more negative cast memebers *cough* ALEX *cough*

While I like the idea of games on XBLA, the problem for someone like me is keeping track of the releases. If the games are smaller you get so many more which makes choosing one that much harder. Thats where sites like Gamespot(not any more of course!!) used to help me giving me detailed features of games helping me choose. I dont see a lot of that when it comes to XBLA games making it that much harder. Demos unfortunately dont help cause some of the demos just plain suck or some just have the best part of the game.
However Portal is something I would buy in an instant if it was online.
Anyways meaningless long post from me.

"IT'S NOT GTAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
lol, there is a hidden demonic anger inside Dustin that will come out some day, and many will die. Sadly, I live near him, so I may have the honor of having him kill me in some kind of satanic ritual.

I just wanted to comment on the idea of downloadable games and what you discussed. I think that Alexander is partially correct but too dismissive of the idea. I'm personally psyched at the potential bonuses something like this could bring, but I'm also wary they may try and pull something foolish and charge us full price for these games despite their savings on shipping and pressing the actual disk.
DLG will need to be phased in, but potential bonuses like lowered price, getting the game before someone who buys it in the store (this could even be significantly earlier), and softer DRM could all encourage even average consumers to dive in.

While I agree and hope that downloadable games will be cheaper, ultimately the cost of the disc/packaging won't lower their costs that much as most of it is spent on advertising and marketing. One advantages is no scratched discs.
I do agree with Alexander though in that the next generation for consoles will still include some disc form of media in addition to downloadable games.

Does anyone else think that Richard was really quiet during this podcast; meaning his voice level was low. Dustin and Alexander were great. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I agree. You've really gotta work on those levels guys - especially because Rich does most of the talking (keeping things moving) so I'll adjust the volume during a rather large speil only to be blasted by Dustin's follow up response.

I had the same problem with Puzzle Quest. I switched from a 20 gig to the 120 gig and a the xbla problem came up...I got it to work though. Start the game go to the bottom where it says unlock full game, wait the second for the game to redownload itself and then hit continue. The game will be unlocked like it was the first time you bought the game. Hope this works for you Alexander.
