The latest issue of EGM reports that Team Ninja is currently working on an exclusive Dead or Alive title for the Playstation 3. Considering the series has been a flagship title for the Xbox since Dead or Alive 3, this presents an interesting twist for DOA fans. The rumor doesn't clarify the actual title of the game, so it's possible that the PS3 will be receiving an updated Dead or Alive 4 (similar to Ninja Gaiden Sigma). In other words, the game in question isn't necessarily Dead or Alive 5. Hell, it might be another DOA Xtreme title for all we know. Come to think of it, the jiggle probably would look better in 4D.

Honestly it would surprise me if it was DOA5. Let's face it, Team Ninja stayed true to the xbox when it's install base was a shadow of the PS2. Now, it's rather reversed between the PS3 and 360, so I can imagine them "jumping ship". Probally, at least one can hope, a rehash of DOA 3 or 4 or even extreme, such as they did with Ninja Gaiden.

Wow. What company in their right mind would make something a PS3 exclusive? That is HILARIOUS.

Or DoA Hardcore.
Sony's been receiving "exclusive" mild updates of Team Ninja titles for years.

The fighting game genre, to me, is one of the most shallow and uninspired in the industry. This can easily be seen by recent bullet points such as improved boob physics and being able to fight outside of the standard 20' x 20' area.
As long as I don't lose my white rpgs I'll be happy.

Basically what I was going to say.
It's important to note that there's kind of this secondary arm of Team Ninja that apparently does what it wants. Thus we see something like Sigma, but Itagaki isn't even involved.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was a similar situation. It's not a bad thing for PS3 fans, obviously, but on the 360 side of things I don't think terribly much will be missed... although I am interested in Sigma despite owning Black.
I kind of wish they'd just put that on both lol.

As others have said... it'll probably be DoA 4.5 Look at all the rest of the team ninja "love" that the Playstation family has received: A port of the first game to PSX... about a year after the Saturn version. Then a port to ps2 of the second game... after it came out on the DC. No love for DOA3/DOAX. Then of course there's Sigma, the 3rd visit to the first team ninja Ninja Gaiden. I doubt they're going to break a decade-long tradition and premiere, let alone exclusively premiere a title on a Playstation platform.
That being said... even if they do, who cares? We've got VF now... no need to pay it's retarded younger brother mind anymore. :)

Well Team ninja is not true to the xbox but it's true too there moto rls games on the most powerful console out there.
Sorry 360 fanboys it's the ps3. (power isn't everything)
So don't be expecting any ninja gaiden ore DOA soon. Let's just all hope team ninja get some financial problems so they have to make those great games multi platform.
Please Peter Moore write them a cheque

This news makes my wang sad. I've been in love with the DOA girls since I first popped the DOA: Hardcore disc into my PS2. I even bought DOA: Xtreme 2 after reading all of its horrible reviews.
If the rumor is true, I'll miss Leifang and Tina and Hitomi terribly. A DOA5 just wouldn't be enough to inspire me to spend over a thousand dollars on a new bluray disc player/non-game machine/Matrix jack. After buying a PS3 and all the accessories I'd need to enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 360, there just aren't any other games that I'm interested in.

@THA1icarus,
Chill buddy, we already know that Ninja Gaiden 2 is in development for the 360. We also already know that Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the one dropping on PS3? Yeah, it's come out TWICE on the original xbox already. And unless it sells well, according to statements Itagaki has made at least, it may well be the only time NG spends time on a Sony platform.
We also know DOA Code Chronos, and another, un-named DOA-related game are in the works for 360. And, at the moment at least, all three titles are 360 exclusive. I'm sorry, but an exclusive DOA (note they didn't call it 5. I PROMISE you it's a gussied up DoA 4... let's just call it 4.5) and a port of a 4 year old Xbox 1 title are hardly the same thing as Team Ninja pulling out of all 360 development. Who cares if they're putting a fresh coat of paint on old Xbox/360 titles and dropping them on the PS3?

I wouldn't believe this just yet. If their is one thing EGM loves doing is putting out rumors that xbox games are moving the PS3. Past rumors include: Resident Evil 5, Jade Empire 2 and Dead Rising 2 being PS3 exclusives.

i remember when that Itagaki fella first started working on the Xbox 1, he said he only wanted to work with the console with the most power...does this mean that the PS3 potentially has more power?

There is a slight bit of misinformation swirling around here, so lemme break it down for ya. Ninja Gaiden Sigma's visuals are completely redone, the fighting system has been tweaked substantially, and there are new chapters featuring Rachel. In all honesty, the game is the first PS3 exclusive that makes me say "Damnit, I really wish I had a PS3" (I'll be renting one to play)
Other than that, if you read this Itagaki, and I know the chances are low since you don't speak English, but please keep improving boob physics. Your fanbase is appreciative. We love your awesome bouncy goodness.
